It takes me, like, less than 5 minutes. Well, only if I get all my stuff ready the night before, like put money in my purse, put my gloves and scarf together where I can see them, put my shoes by the door, etc. But then otherwise, it takes me about 5 minutes.

Once I overslept and got up at 11:05 and my bus was due at 11.15, so I literally got ready in that very small amount of time, and I was still on time for the bus!
Yet other women I know need about an hour or more to give themselves time to do all their hair and make-up and make sure they look perfect in their clothes, etc.

It depends. My actual routine is real long say 2 hours. but since I can't afford two hours of getting ready in the morning most of the time I just take 15 mins. wash, comb and leave with my bag pack.

You could combine weighing yourself with showering, sparing one getting dressed and undressed. Actually, when the weather is warm, I get undressed right after I got home, and only get dressed before I leave for work. Also, I haven't got a scale thankfully, so I don't use it compulsively all the time.

It seems to me that how long it takes depends on what you're picky about and just how picky you are; how much you think is necessary to do and how long each of those particular things take; how well you're able to respond to your alarm clock and how rested you feel when you do get up; and whether or not you're interrupted, how long that lasts, and how much the interruption or its nature disrupts you. So, I would conclude that the length of time it takes to get ready is not related directly to autism. But someone who's got a thing about time or skill at readiness will tend to take less time and/or be more on time, while someone who's thing is minute details of preparedness or who struggles with fatigue on an ongoing basis will tend to take longer and/or be later. Some of these things can be autism related, because they might have to do with an autistic's level of focus and drive in an area of interest. But NTs can also really value punctuality; be no-fuss-no-muss, ready-to-go types (maybe from military experience); make their schedules too full of things to get them all done in time; fiddle around with unnecessary activities when they should be pulling themselves together; or be chronically overtired for some reason (illness or over-activity, for example).

Here we've run into yet another thing in which we must consider why something occurs, not just compare notes as to whether or not it occurs. I think the length of time it takes me to get ready is as much because of my fibromyalgia as anything else, while I think my father's routine is much more related to what may be autism (though, as I said before, I can't confirm whether or not either of us has it, because neither of us has been properly diagnosed).

It's best to wait a half hour between the time that you finish eating and the time that you brush your teeth, because eating can temporarily increase the acidity within your mouth and soften the enamel of your teeth, and waiting gives the saliva in your mouth the time to control the pH.

I want to weigh myself before eating and when naked, but I want to shower after eating, so that there's a half hour between when I eat and when I brush my teeth.

If I need a shower it takes over an hour because of showering and needing to dry off and all that.

If I just need to through clothes on and grab quick food... then I need to take meds, go back to bed, about 15 minutes before I need to leave get back up, throw clothes on, grab some fruit or a granola bar, eat, put shoes on, and leave.

I have been working for over 20 years and it's still a "job" to get out of the house every day.

Seriously. I feel exhausted just getting ready. No one would believe how early I get up as I get to work late.

Luckily we have flex time. :)

Matt, you cracked me up! I have a routine too but I've never noted it all down.
Just don't get in my way...........

It takes me between 30-60 minutes to get ready if I'm actually concentrating on getting ready and if I get distracted by other things it takes longer. I don't actually have that much to do to get ready, I'm just really slow about it. It's hard for me to wake up in the mornings and I feel really out of it. I also have to psyche myself up to leave the house and go out to do whatever I have to do. Sometimes I get ready and then it still takes 20 minutes just to bring myself to walking out the door.

It depends on where I'm going. (and the weather)
To the barn,
summer: 30-40 min
winter: 60 min. Hair must be dry, layers must be extensive
To the gym: 40 min
Errands: 45 min. must put on basic makeup to avoid scaring people
Out for a special occasion:
No Time Limit
A girl never knows how many outfits she will need to try on, or if her
hair will behave, etc.

This is for just me to get ready. Getting my greyhound settled in for dealing with being home alone is another matter all together.

It takes me FOREVER! I normally get up two hours before I need to be anywhere. And I still usually run late. T_T

Usually, it takes me about 45 minutes from getting up in the morning to walking out the front door of the house.

My basic daily morning routine (in chronological order):

1. I wake up.
2. I brush my teeth.
3. I shower.
4. After drying myself from showering, I get dressed.
5. I put on my contacts.
6. I feed the dog.
7. I take my morning vitamins.
8. I let the dog out.
9. After the dog is done outside for the morning, I let him back in.
10. I grab my wallet, car key, and house keys.
11. I head out the front door.
