Yes, often with the curious effect of seeing both what was and what is apparently in front of my eyes, when I recently had a childhood memory of a location pop up for no clear reason other than my being there.
Like auntblabby and Verdandi I often zone out into these flashbacks and "come to" some time afterwards. On this particular occasion I'd stopped in my tracks and was staring at a building - fortunately, from a pavement.

I get this too but for me it's not limited to memories flashing back. It can happen any time I zone out while thinking about something. That's why I'm careful not to think too hard about stuff while driving or doing anything else that requires my attention.

Most of my energy is spent trying not to have these. I can't seem to forget anything negative that's happenned to me.

Yes! I have these. Especially back to memories of when I did something embarrassing or awkward. Sometimes I'll be kicking myself for something I did in like...5th grade because I just remembered it perfectly.

I also replay conversations, sometimes getting so into it I move my lips with the words. I usually do this in the shower where absolutely no one can see me, or sometimes in that time before settling down to fall asleep.

I'm nodding it total agreement at what Finallyfoundoutwhy said... and actually LOL'd at "having a full survival and emergency kit in the car"-- OMG! I DO TOO! and in my husband's truck ... right down to sterno stove and mylar blanket! 8O Is this not a normal thing?...? isn't it just being prepared? I do the whole conversations, out loud and flash back memories {though my memories are fully illustrated pictures, as I am a very visual person} and I hate it when I say something out loud-responding to what's in my head, and the dog starts to growl because she thinks someone is talking! :? she 'helps' me realize just how much I do that...
