I actually like the company of both.....but I usually bond with animals easier. But most people probably don't consider animals friends like I do.........i mean say I was buying a dog bone at the store and someone asked me why for whatever insane reason, I would probably say its for my friend Kiva as she is my friends dog and would protect us both if need be.

For my ninth birthday party, my mom invited every girl in my grade to skate up and down our street followed by cake and icecream. They all had a great time, but I ended up hiding in the garage with my dog most of the time. It was far too loud, and I felt bad that my dog couldn't come out and have fun too (because some of the girls didn't like dogs). Much to my poor mom's disappointment I told her I'd rather spend my party in there with my best friend.

I've learned to like people a lot more as I've grown older though. I'll never stop loving my pets, but I've come to recognize the things I love about them in other people as well.

My goodness. I'm sure your mother meant well, but this event requires a presidential candidate level of social skills! :help: I mean, really, to engage in host behavior with a bunch of people, some of them perhaps in the beginning stages of friendship with you, and some of them not. This is not merely a level of social skills broadly in the average range. This kind of event requires a high level of social skill and energy.

Oh, I totally prefer animals to people. Especially cats and rodents.

I have always loved cats, yet never owned one, I may fix that later this year.
Oh, when I say I really like cats, I have been percieved gay for saying so on several occasions, gits.

Me, too (about rodents). In fact, when I was a boy, for years and years, we had guinea pigs.

I think they're great animals. They 'oink, oink, oink' when they hear the refrigerator opening or the rustling of paper grocery bags. Each one has their own personality and is a little different.

The mother guinea pig has relatively small liters of only 1 to 5 babies. In fact, she only has two nipples. And amazingly, the babies are born fully furred and with their eyes open! And the mother guinea pig gets so big.

The only bad thing is that guinea pigs seem to only live about four years. Sad

People have just treated me too badly (even people here on WP haven't been that friendly to me) for me to have any positive feelings twoards them. People say I have a "gift" with animals because I don't have any natural fear of them and because a lot of animals seem naturaly drawn to me. I think it's just because I don't stare them down. I've always wanted a pet tiger or someother wild animal as a pet. People always say that would be dangerous and you can't trust wild animals. So you are telling me that I can put my trust in other humans? People who say those kind of things usualy turn out to be backstabbers and are basicaly against anything I do that isn't within society's norms. And besides, after all the backstabbing and s**t I've reveived from other people, I'd trust a T-rex before I ever trusted another human being 100% again. I've always gotten flack for being more concerned with the rights and welfare of animals than people. Why are people so important? So anyway, I don't have any use for other people.

ever since i can remember myself i've always prefered animals to humans. they posses a magic we don't. i love feeling silky paws on my shoulders. i love dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, parrots, whatever...
they're real. they don't pretend to like you for selfish reasons. they don't pretend to be sweet and gentle and then attack you. if a dog is violent you'll know right away. but your well respected and precieved as gentle neighbor next door can be a serial killer for all you know. just hasn't been caught yet.
several times a dog would let me pat him and his owner would comment that he usually doesn't let strangers pet him, or that he's usually not that friendly. i patted a dog once and commented to her owners on how friendly she was, wagging her tail and licking my hand. the owner told me she usually attacks people who pat her.
cats and dogs alike come to me all the time. with a cat in my lap or a dog licking my face i'm euphoric. give me a non poisonous, non strangler, friendly snake and i'll pat him too.
no rats, please. i'm a bit scared of them.

Yes, it is true not to stare at them. Then they get an interest into you. With wild horses they first "chase" them in a way and then turn back and "ignore" the horse, so the horse will come to you.

I liked your former picture a lot. Why did you take it away?

I could always relate to Shadow and I like what this picture says. That's why I changed it. I might change it back to the meerkats very soon. I've had that as my icon on Deviant Art for over three years and don't even plan on changing it. I would even complain to the people who run DA when they thought it was funny to change it every April 1st. I've noticed they don't do that anymore. Hmm.

Add me to the list! Especially the cats and rodents part. And even some spiders and other animals. I feel that I understand them completely. We are the same. I feel like we almost share the same skin. We get so close and understand each other so well.

People, on the other hand, are strangers to me. I care about them, but understanding them takes longer and when I do understand them I find it hard to agree with their choices.
