i didn't recognize my own mother when she put on a wig and once didn't recognize myself in the mirror on the bus, simply because i didn't expect to see my reflection. why? that's a tough one.
maybe it's because we don't make eye contact. or maybe remembering a person's face is related to communication, somehow, in some strange way. we have a problem with faces, because we can't read expressions in the face very well. i wonder if this is somehow connected to face blindness.

This happens with me often too. If I don't see some people for a few days, I start having trouble remembering their face well in my mind. Their face, in my mind, often gets replaced by one from a similar person whose face I know well.

my mum changed her hair a lot when i was little. when she picked me up from school with a new hair colour/style i wouldn't recognise her and then kinda freak out when i did

all becoming clear
