I walk tall. I don't want to be a target because I walk funny.

Plus, it's natural for me. I retain good posture.

Up straight, sometimes fast.

I walk with a bounce- always have. Been teased a lot when younger. I guess I tend to walk on the front of my feet and my toes.

Funny thing is when my son was only two, my mother-in-law noticed he walked just like me (most of the males in our family are on the spectrum).

Yes! that too. I forgot to charge my iPod the other day (that has never happened before) I then realized that that is my adult ritual and I cannot be outdoors without the noise isolation + music. I also walk to the beat. I am also very aware of other peoples walking pace and tend to synchronise with them for some twisted reason. I don't like doing that so I often skip a step. I feel like someone has the sense of the synchrony and it might come off as stalker-like. I can't know for sure but I take extra precaution if people actually do think that way. But yeah, looking at the ground nearly all the time. I think it's visual feedback for balance. Does anyone swerve about? I imagine I look almost drunk, not in a stumbly way, but I slowly meander. I never keep a linear trajectory and I often drift to the left side of a walkway with lots of people coming head-on then have to avoid them.

Thanks for the posts!

I've been accused of being drunk in public many times while sober. I tend to stagger a bit and I can't stand still without leaning against something. I actually walk straighter when I *am* drunk.

I walk strange, at least that is what people have always told me, as if "my legs were attached in the other way around", what ever it means. Somehow opposite, I guess. I had to follow rehab for it age 3, but I still walk strange and 20 years of classical ballet made me find a solution for it, but I constantly have to think about crossing my legs more and "release the hips", but since I am conscious about it, I stumble more than before. :(
My arms are or stiff (the left one more than the right one) or I just "attach" them both to my handbag or one at the handbag and the other one in a pocket.

I walk on my toes a lot. I don't know why.

It's interesting that alcohol can have that paradoxical effect. I agree. I'm also oddly stable when drinking which is seldom.
I also feel more stable with a heavy backpack. It kind of forces you to swing your arms to keep the straps in the same position. The worst is at the start of summer with no backpack and you feel almost too "light" and walk the awkward free form. I thought the foot pain was from a flat foot, not an over arched foot, though I don't know for sure. I wanted to try insoles. A conclusion - the combination of AS and a painful arch = prancing penguin walk.

I also watched that youtube video at least 10 times, though I am not sure why.

I have been told that I walk like a lumberjack, a caveman, and a man from 3 different people at different times in my life.

I tend to walk fast, because I feel more stable that way. I feel more likely to trip on my own feet when I walk more slowly. I have a determined walk. I have to get where I'm going before I forget what I'm going there for.

Interesting....I think I would look like the opposite of a lumberjack. I feel like my walk is androgynous because I keep my upper body and head as stable as possible instead of swaying naturally.....like chicken head tracking.....I also walk fast, I have mini competitions with people behind me and usually win :D

My walk isn't incredibly unique. I have long legs so I take very long strides when I walk. My feet are parallel while walking. My arms also tend to naturally swing. On occasion, I'll pick up my feet when I walk.

I walk

- Fast
- Without swinging my arms
- I curl my hands up when I'm overloaded; usually near my shoulder. If I'm really overloaded one of them will end up curled against my chest.

When I was a kid and a teenager I walked with the supporting weight on the outside of my feet, and I was quite laughed at. The outside part of the sole of my shoes were very used in the process, enhancing the effect.

Now I corrected the position but I walk with a slouch and a forward head syndrome, I have back problems as a result.

What do you mean by curling your hand up? sometimes I find it very comfortable to hold a shoulder with the opposite hand, it this what you mean?

Kind of hunched over with my hands in the pockets of my hoodie, walking kind of slower than average, depending on whether or not I'm wearing my backpack (that things super heavy and extremely unorganized) I'm very small though so I don't look as much of a Tim Burton character as I would if I were tall.
