Yes I get called cute a lot. I'm 5'2 and I'm a size 0, not because I want to be I just am. Its also because I'm very childlike. I wear aeropostle alot because that stuff just fits me best. But I definitely don't "act my age" either (which is 30) most in my family look much younger, perhaps because we are Italian idk.

I get called cute sometimes. It's quite a self-esteem booster until I realize they don't mean they find me attractive. They're using the word the way you'd call a puppy or a small child cute  . I guess I do look a bit younger than I am. I don't really act my age either. I act much older than I really am sometimes, and much younger sometimes, but rarely my actual age.

No and yes?

Yes, I often get mistaken for several years younger than I am and am thought of as childlike and alternatively as childish.

But apparently, I am creepy and disgusting to some strangers that feel irritated by me all the same.

It's probably something in my body language (or there's simply something wrong with those people) because these people never can clearly explain what irritates them so about me. All they can say is usually along the lines that "something" is not as it is with normal people and that they feel it's irking and horrible and that I need to disappear/get put down/they can't tolerate me.

However, my close friends sometimes suddenly say I'm cute and that what I say is cute, as is when I clap or flap hands. I also got told that certain traits of my autism supposedly are thought of as "charming" and "appealing". I don't know about that?

The opinions clash and it confuses me.

No, I know a lot of NTs who are cute, especially fat men with beer bellies. Somehow I find them cute.

i think that AS is seen by many people as being "cute", and i think that is why so many people are eager to diagnose themselves as AS.

it is like a tourist destination being ruined by trampling and over occupation.

It does seem to be the fashion these days that the socially awkward nerdy type that so often fits Aspies is thought of as cute. I don't really see it myself but meh.

There are some than are. One of my friends is adorable :D He acts so much younger than he really is, I'm pretty sure he's SLIGHTLY more than just Asperger's. But there's this guy at my school who's a big arse hole and he's the farthest thing from cute.

The youthful appearance could be considered cute by some, but it doesn't make all aspies appear young.

...Which makes me wonder about some people with AS having a "look" to them. For instance, everyone with downs syndrome (AFAIK) has a definite look on their face. The AS look is a definite look, but not all aspies have it. I wonder if those people with AS with that particular look have something different altogether, or something added.

Eh, there's no hope of that for me. I haven't talked to a stranger in almost a year. Don't watch much TV or keep up with fashion either - I'm amazed I find time to putz around online.

That is actually cute, but if I didn't know it was a picture of an Aspie I would have just thought it was a picture of an NT. That goes to show that Aspies and NTs don't look noticably different. NTs are cute aswell as Aspies.

No offense, but you don't have the ''Aspie look'' like lots of members on WP think we all have.

Not only do not all aspies have it, but I knew a family where all the daughters were young looking to the extreme, and in my opinion they couldn't have been aspie... But still, I'd always considered them looking so young a bit of an oddity.
