I love babies. People used to say that "animals and small children" like me...probably because I like them.

Now, not all babies are CUTE, though. Animal babies, yes...but some human babies look like old men or bloated toads or worse. Yikes! I just like that babies are simple creatures that don't require conversation, but they make you feel wanted/needed and loved.

I was at a get together with friends from work, and we held it at a friend's house who had just had twin boys. While most of my friends/co-workers were sitting around the kitchen table chatting and gossiping, I was in the living room staring at the babies. lol.

That's the worst age to deal with, for me.

I really get along fine with children/babies, more than I thought I would at a younger age. But... Maybe it's just hypersensitivity, because I've never done anything wrong, but I don't trust myself around kids. I'm really split on it actually, because I still think I'd take better care of a child than my mother and my sister when I was growing up (sister was actually more dominant at home than my mother).

Nope....lots of people don't find babies cute - I guarantee that you would feel different about your own children though...

No it's not an aspie trait. Plenty of childfree people feel that way and not all of them are aspie. I am sure some people who do like kids feel the same way too. Though I have seen parents admit online at Babycenter they have seen some ugly babies or saying their own kids were ugly when they were one.

I have always found babies cute. I used to find newborns ugly though. Even I thought I was an ugly baby and then I got cute when I wasn't a newborn anymore. But now I find them cute and not ugly anymore. But I thought my nephew wasn't very cute until I saw him in person but I still thought my son was cuter. I find baby animals cute but not when they are born (kittens and puppies). They look weird to me and different. But once they get older, they get their cute looks and start looking like their own species.

I find my sister's children to be adorable. I don't find them scary like I do teenagers and older too.

Also, they don't expect anything from you; they don't care how little you talk, how little you look at them in the eyes, and the zillion other little things with an ASD.

I dont find babies cute or very rarely. I wouldn't say it was an aspie trait. Like anything else, aspies can really love children or really dislike them. I hate crying, and it would terrify me to be in charge of another being. I do find animal babies cute like someone else said.

I find babies and other small humans cute. I don't want any of my own, though.

Generally I don't like looking at babies. My step-sister has had two (eldest now 3) and recently my step-brother had a baby boy (well his partner actually HAD the baby...). I looked at the photo of my little nephew and I just thought he was so cute! He wasn't like some other newborns though, he had a thick layer of black hair and his eyes were wide open. Most of the time though I look at a baby and just think 'oh. a baby' or something!

Now animal babies I go really gooey over! We had a litter of rabbit kittens come in last week at the shelter and I just looked at them, all tiny and fuzzy and couldn't stop saying 'AAAAAWWWWWW!' I will be the first to admit though that rabbit kittens look rather freaky until they are a week old!

Children or babies can be cute but they do require patience and tolerance, they can definitely bring a childlike energy to a room which makes a person feel younger and more playful. However I do find animals to be more cute and I think most people on the spectrum would prefer to raise an animal over a child.

I think they are cute, but I think what I never liked was the societal pressure people give you about how I am supposed to respond to them. I don't like when people pass them around like the hot potato game and you are expected to emote on cue. That is not the baby's fault and I never blame the baby for that. In fact I feel sorry for the poor thing being passed around from one germy, scary, noise making stranger to another. (Even if it is an extended relation, the baby has no idea who you are)

My son loves babies and thinks they are adorable and they make no social demands on him. He tries to teach them math. He did say recently after I pointed one out in a store, that he likes them, but not when they cry. (sensory issues)

Equally, I want to say I dislike like when babies/children are expected to emote, or do other things on cue. I have a relative I barely see, and he threatened violence on his child if he doesn't hug me. 8O I think that basically, childhood is a hassle for many kids.
