I agree with those who said that the person who wrote the article doesn't know what Asperger's is. Because apparently they don't. Whoever wrote the article obviously doesn't understand it. Do you think you could post a link to the article so we can see it?

Gayism? Gayism isn't even a word! Whoever posted on that site needs to get themselves educated. And not just about AS.

AS is mostly believed to be fake by uneducated people. It is their way of showing concern by trying to deny ppl have it because they think AS causes some type of suffering. Nearly all of the ppl that i have observed communicating that AS is fake have never worked at a University in one of the STEM disciplines. AS folks have been included there if the person w AS has developed their special interest to the point where the University needs them, and extreme specialization is an asset in research. Many with AS hate highschool but love college. Maybe that info is out of date as there is more awareness exists now than say 20 yrs ago. Dr. Grandin is right when she says to over learn your skills and show the portfolio of articles to employers and academic advisers and instructors. That may lower the risk of having AS being called fake too because others are distracted by the AS persons excellent skills at school or work.

Externally AS is hard to comprehend if you don't have it, and the behavior seems to show no pattern that nts know.

Can't see it, therefore it doesn't exist. That is generally the impression I've had from most people. I did once have someone say it's over diagnosed - I was tempted to say it's because during the 1950s and 1960s, people with Autism were probably either ignored or diagnosed with other disabilities, such as ADHD.

Bit of a random question - I seem to remember that you can see Autism on an MRI scan. (in the same way you can see that on my brain scans, there's too much fluid) Anyone know anything about this?
