I've experienced Anger 3 times. Each time was fairly memorable experience.

It’s just rather difficult to move me to that extreme, otherwise though, I am perfectly capable of being annoyed or frustrated. But those are not very common either, and generally pass quickly.

I get mad at myself when I realize I am not acting NT. I know that sounds like blasphemy! But, I have worked hard my whole life to fit in (because it was in my 30's that I was diagnosed) I suppose it's a reaction to embarassment. I don't get outwardly angry though. Frustrated, which is a form of anger!

This!

I get the hyper-analysis effect with things that would make most people angry or upset. For example, a long time ago when I broke up with my ex who I'd been with for 5 years, all I could seem to do was analyze the logistical details of him moving out of my apartment and reorganizing my work schedule. I didn't shed a tear.

Meanwhile, he blubbered and had a nervous breakdown for weeks on end.

Hence my former title of "Ice Queen".

Oooh! This is a catchy subject! My mom sometimes says, "I'm not angry, I'm just frusturated." It kills me because I sense that she's angry and in denial of it. You just can't be honest yourself with a person like that! Maerlyn, thanks for bringing this to light!

Ya me too. I absorb a lot of crap because I don't feel like its worth the effort to get angry unless it's absolutely called for. I wish I could express my little annoyances before they get out of hand but I don't really know how to modulate my speech when I am angry and people tend to think I am madder than I actually am. So it leads to more problems. I have kind of a "dead, expressionless" face when I am not showing an emotion, so people I don't know are kind of stand off-ish towards me anyway.

Ya, it sounds like she's angry, but doesn't want you to think she is cause that might change you're opinion of her or the way you look at her. Or maybe deep down she'll think she's a bad person if she gets angry with you. I have a psych degree :) but that's not my job, so I am just guessing. I hope thing 's get better with your mom.

I can feel angry, but I cannot display it.
I don't know how to do it.
But I can have angry thoughts inside me.
I think, before I can get angry and display it towards other people I go into a shutdown.
This I have often.

That's pretty accurate. But isn't that why most people don't show anger? This world needs a healthy dose of anger given the way it is, yet anger is considered soooo taboo! I can't stand all the emphasis on being calm all the time!

Ya, I wish I could express any anger. When I try I get that foggy headedness, I can't think, one time I started tearing up. So all that combined = problems. lol

I'm constantly angry with myself, and I have a tendancy to lash out when the wrong thing is said to me, or if I am in an environment or situation where I know I can't lash out, I still get angry inside, and the ''bottled anger'' tends to build up until I have an uncontrollable outburst in a few weeks or months.

That's me, Joe, but I'm not quite as uncontrollable as you. I'm never at all likely to damage myself in the outburst.
