I think its a totally awesome idea.

regardless of whatever rep craigslist has, this is a story about an autistic person who made it big.

i like stories like that.

Me too!

It's nice to see people on the spectrum who've done well to counteract all the negative stories one hears.

I have but one question: why hasn't he gotten 'an official diagnosis'? Is he merely confident in who he is, does he not feel that it matters to him or is he, perhaps, afraid?

How were you able to afford (attention, time, money) attending to your daily necessities (food, clothing, shelter) while simultaneously developing a new website and business?

Did you have to change any interface features because your audience was unable to understand an interface that you originally envisioned? Or did the original plan work out well on the first try?

Q: How have your acquaintances handled you? How do you cope with living with people in general and running a business?

I was wondering the same thing. If it hasn't, ask him what his AQ test score is.

Have you been officially diagnosed?

If not, what traits do you have that make you self-identify as having aspergers?

Did any of these traits help you start or build CraigsList?

Was there any point along the way that the asperger traits hindered your progress?

Have you heard about the Neanderthal theory? (may need to briefly explain it to him and then ask him what he thinks about this theory)

Do you think anyone in your family has asperger traits as well? How did this affect you growing up and now?

Do you think it helps to have successful people publicly talk about having aspergers? If yes, how so?

With CraigsList being such a famous network known by so many, is there any way CraigsList could help with those with aspergers and helpw the public education?

Does CraigsList have a foundation? Is the foundation involved with asperger issues?

Craigslist has a pretty bad reputation. I don't think is a very good idea to have anything to do wih this website.

I disagree. Craigslist is great! It affects my life a lot, actually. It's my main source for buying instruments and other musical gear - I comb through it every single day, hunting for great deals and hard-to-find things you can never find in a store - it's how I got my current main amp/speaker cab setup, how I've gotten the best guitar I've owned in my life, and countless other things - all at a very good cost. My synth, the aforementioned guitar, and the amp/speaker setup all costed half their normal used price.

It's also how I get a lot of connections with other musicians - it's how I got into two of the three bands I'm in.

Meeting up with strangers requires caution - but if you do the right things, you minimize the risk a very large amount. I've had nothing but positive experiences with craigslist. I always bring someone with me - usually one of two people I'd consider friends, who are also in one of those bands with me. I do this for safety, and because it's hard for me to speak with strangers on my own.

Craigslist makes it much easier for me to get and do many things. I also love the appearance of it - nice and simple - and I love the way it's ran.

Here are my questions (in case the interview has not happened yet):

Why did you make craigslist?

Do you have any plans for the future of craigslist?

Do you have any special interests, and if so, would you be willing to share what they are?

How many friends do you have?

How have people in your life reacted to finding out you have AS?

How did you get the word out about Craigslist?
How do you run a profit (no commission, no ads...)?
How where you diagnosed with asperger syndrome?
howdo you explain it to your colleagues?
