Most definitely false and most definitely damaging. He had thought he was being cleverly funny, but missed badly. On pointing out (w/ associate) how it actually reads he's admitted fault. He wants to correct in embarrassingly over-the-top fashion. He's been told I'll need to approve any correction before he sends to publication.
