I laughed.

Thank you. Now you have encouraged me.

A town with only aspies could be "Sperg burg"

An aspie with an eating disorder could be "purge sperg"

An aspie going to film school could be a "wanna be Speil-sperg"

You could rhyme with it too. An aspie computer tech guy (or gal, no sexism here) could be a "nerd sperg"

An aspie who is just rude and mean could be a "turd sperg"

An aspie English major could be a "word sperg"

You get the idea....

You truly have a gift for puns. I dub thee "The Pungeon Master" :hail:

Spaz is probably the worst because in my country it is aimed at those with a more debilitating disability than Asperger's, usually Cerebral Palsy.

Perhaps we could pick up Sperg like n****r?

It's sounds almost Borgish.

But if I heard someone use the word in conversation I'd knock them right out.

Sperg out? Must be in reference to someone having an outburst.

What's the slang for autism? Tis, Tism, sm?

Anyone else noticed the slang word 'sperg' (e.g. to sperg out) that has developed as a derogatory verb deriving from 'Asperger'?

I've run into it once or twice online.

I say we just start using it to describe ourselves... Sperg sounds pretty good, better than aspie IMO.

I not a big fan of slang of any sort. To me it's always been primarily a way for younger generations to exclude older generations. We have had enough problems with generation gaps over the past century, and it's getting worse.

Occasionally, yeah. I guess it's a sign that AS has become well-known enough to develop its own special insult. Kind of like CP and "spaz".

I find it more annoying than insulting.

Is it a noun, a verb, or both?

"Sperging out" I suppose means "having a meltdown".

Someone who has aspergers (aka an "aspie") would have to be a "sperger".

A high ranking person with aspergers would a "spergermeister".

I've seen "sperging out" used to describe a video game reviewer gushing over a new game (Angry Joe over Sword of the Stars II) or simply giving an in-depth explanation of astrophysics.

I have seen the term "sperg" used to describe people on the autism spectrum, along with the term "spastic or spast" or even "spurdo". It is a term of derision because it is used in the context of viewing people on the autism spectrum as potential lolcows to be trolled for the lulz.

nat4200,

Thank you for providing documentation. I really find the whole thing rather unpleasant.
