It's a fun day, so is Halloween. New Years Eve is meh.

It's pointless and stupid. There is no reason for this "day" to exist.

You are faced with a string of inconveniences all day just because people have traditionally tried to inconvenience each other on this day for years.

No one really ever knows why they are supposed to be doing this, they just do it because it has always been done, and because everyone else is doing it.

This mindless mass participation in completely pointless rituals, which none of the participants have any personally valid reason to be involved in, is one of the things I hate most about NTs.

It just highlights their hopeless stupidity and reassures me that they are not actually real people, and have no real form of individual consciousness. Just empty "soulless" machines which instinctively react to each other, moving together on autopilot with no one at the wheel. There is something very eerie about that. Billions of meat puppets dancing together, being animated by some unseen force, while the lights are on but no one's home.

Sometimes it feels like they are all basically dead bodies and someone is making them move and pretend to be alive, doing it just to try and creep me out. I don't mean literally, it just feels that way.

I hate just about all holiday type things, unless they have a legitimate purpose, like a harvest day or something... But unfortunately I do not have a farm.

Usually April Fool's Day annoys me because I never seem to trick ANYONE. But since I'm still healing from oral surgery, I tricked my boyfriend into thinking that I had dry socket from using a straw and that I was in the E.R. hooked up to morphine. I was surpirsed when he believed me, but I found it quite funny and I don't know why...

Invader, I honestly think that you are entirely too optomistic, polite, warm, and happy. I just can't take this anymore. I'm going to go into a diabetic coma if I read one more sensitive and encouraging post from you. And I'm not even diabetic. You always manage to see the bright side of everything. Kudos to you. You should seriously get into school to learn how to be a therapist. I think you would do wonders for the depressed and hopeless population! I don't know how you manage to stay so upbeat without just exploding into a big ole' cloud of glitter, unicorn farts, and rainbows!

I agree. There is no room for this tomfoolery on WP.

I cannot tell you how many times I've come to this forum to wallow in my own misery only to be assaulted by his unrelenting (and quite frankly disturbing) lust for life.

My optimism knows no bounds, Olive. Your own gratuitously negative and judgemental perspective is merely seeping into your interpretation of the things that I say, like sewage water saturating a golden vanilla sponge cake.
