I've always had obsessive interests, often to the point that they're the only thing I want to do/think about/talk about. My interests sometimes interfere with other tasks, too.

I never used to have obsessions when I was a small child, only 'til I got to about 11. I had interests as a child, but they were just general interests, and also they were mainstream fads, like most typical kids.

When I was about 11 onwards, I started getting obsessions with people, wanting to find out everything about them, wanting to be noticed by them, wanting to be part of their lives, wanting to know everything about them, wanting to talk non-stop about them, wanting to be them. And I'm still like it to this day (only over different people of course, not the same people as when I was 11).

But my obsessions have always been around social interaction, and the social world. I've never been obsessed with objects or films, etc. It's always been about people. (Is this normal for an Aspie???????)

that's probably not typical at all for an autistic person. i can't stand being around people. on the extremely rare occasions when someone comes to my house and stays more than a few minutes (uninvited, of course), it's torture for me. i dont want to be rude and ask someone to leave but it's an ordeal like roots canal without enough navocain.
i dont have friends and never been in a relationship. i cant stand even the thought of having kids.
maybe the syndrome effected you pyshically more, like bad motor skills, over sensitivity, numbness to pain, extremely strong sense of smell/taste/whatever and an exceptionally mild sense of something else. maybe the syndrome didnt effect your ability to be with people. that can happen.
with me it might be the other way around. my motor skills are below average but not that bad.
