Why do people break promises?

I have no idea. I always keep my promises and fail to understand why others don't. My husband tells me that I shouldn't let it bother me as much as it does. And it really dose bother me a lot.

This happens a lot to me too. When I feel like someone has promised to do something and then nothing...But I think maybe I just misunderstand people and they are just kind of going with the conversation and don`t realize that things they are saying sounds like promise to do something. And maybe if people don`t explicitly say "I promise" then they don`t remember that as a promise, but just as an possible thing that they may or may not do? Hehe, yes, I`m confused about all that saying/thinking thing. So what if you just call her, welcome her back and say that you would like to meet her and talk about something? Otherwise it`s all just guessing game, because you have no way of knowing if she knows/remembers that you wanted to talk to her.
