Hyper-focus and not knowing what's going on around you

I've hyperfocused in meetings before--I bring my laptop into them usually, and I've gotten so engrossed with what I'm doing on my computer that I'll have no idea what everyone else is talking about around me. When I do hyperfocus, calling out my name usually snaps me out of it.

That said, I tend to be more distracted than anything when I'm at work.
