How to bring up AS with my psychiatrist.

Sorry to hear it didn't go well. I imagine it's quite frustrating to try and get professional help and end up no better off than if you didn't try in the first place. For what it's worth, when I have been to psychologists in the past, all I ever been told was that I had self esteem issues, possible social anxiety disorder and trouble with depression, so you're not alone in this regard. I guess the next step for you is to try and find someone who deals with ASD and see what they have to say.

It might be time to go to Toronto. Perhaps, if she agrees that you may have AS, she could recommend a specialist.

That's ridiculous . . . OCD (if you have it) can be treated and there are therapies and drugs that will help you cope with your AS symptoms.

That's just not true. She sounds a little less than useless. Try to get another psychiatrist . . . there are good ones out there. And they can be helpful. For every 90 that are idiots, 10 can actually help you. It's worth it to keep looking.
