I never realized just how wasteful and ungrateful people were until I attended university. People would take one sip from a pop and chuck the rest, have a whole chicken but only eat the legs (my roommates would give me the rest in return for doing their assignments after finding out I liked chicken), and go to the cafeteria after claiming how terrible their food was, heap food on their plate, take a bite or two and throw the rest away. People always asked if I was a starving African kid because I'd eat every last bit on my plate (even gravy or sauce). They were the same way with clothes and everything else.

I hate to see food being wasted. I seem to ''feel sorry'' for it, for some reason. I prefer it to be eaten like it was made/grown for, rather than to be rotted.

I have a really hard time with waste. I hate throwing away food or buying things I don't NEED. Doing that kind of stuff makes me feel really sad and selfish. It has been pointed out to me that often don't buy myself new things that I should buy. Its almost liek the line betwwen want and need is really blurry for me.
