I'm glad the person who created the poll didn't list any produce or softdrinks as choices.

I believe in myself and my own capabilities. I was never one to give someone unseen all the credit for my achievements.

Strong Atheist all my life. I think Aspies are less prone to theological thoughts thanks to the separation of logic and emotions.

I'm a Christian. If you want to know the answer to the common question "What kind of Christian?", I go to a church that's part of the Foursquare movement. It's a lot like being Baptist in my opinion; it's just another organization. Anyways, that's what religion I am.

Hey Aspie Girl,

I used to live near Van Nuys, and went to Jack Hayfords Church.(COTW) I don't know how much I ever could believe there, but I still remember having an argument with some blowhard that said "They proved it is not a language!"! With all the sign, clicks, etc... how could any prove they are all fake? Then again, some ARE faking, certainly.

Still, I never understood the purpose of that, even if SOME people sometimes supposedly ended up witnessing to others while they "prayed". I ALSO never understood why God can't just give us the memory of his existence.

Anyway, I am back to being agnostic. I guess I never really left.

Steve

"I try to practice Christian values without claiming to be Christian which is better than the other way around. I’m not concerned with things like heaven or hell. I think what happens to us before we are born and after we die is up to god and what happens to us in between is up to us. I don't believe that a creator god exists outside of us, I believe that there was a co-arising of god and the universe. I do believe in a creator god that exists inside of us, creating this reality moment to moment, that man and god are not separate, that man and god are one. As to the metaphysical nature of that reality, I tend to believe as the Buddhists believe, but when asked, 'are you Buddhist?' I say, 'I wouldn't go that far.' (A little Zen humor there)"

I hold humanist beliefs infused with some Gnostic mysticism (the type so beloved of William Blake and Aleister Crowley). I'm not sure whether I should consider "Sophiaphile" a word (from Sophia, the Gnostic personification of wisdom and the human soul) but if such a word were to exist I would embody it.

However, where I differ from most Gnostics is in the nature of how the Divine Spark works. While the original belief is that all humans have some divine essence trapped in the body which must be freed to return to God, I am of the belief that this spark actually exists to further our physical capabilities and mastering it would make us as demigods on this planet akin to the Nephelim described in Enoch.

Still believe in some certain christian beliefs, but main belief is satanism.
Makes a lot more sense than other religeons to person and has same ideas/thoughts on people, animals etc.
Because satanism isnt well known apart from what people see in films or hear from other people or through other religeons,if person ever told anyone when asked what belief was, would treat like a murderer or someone else as bad as that, never stopped to find out what satanism is really about.
When asked what religeon was to put on forms by new staff at home, would not accept satanism and wrote down non practicing instead.
Offered to lend copy of the satanic bible to worst ignorants so would be better informed about satanism but it was refused because they know exactly what its like already apparently [murdering innocents, sacrificing animals, stealing etc the usual crap]

Nothing wrong with Satanism. I think it's important to live one's life according to some code of principles which are not abandoned when they become inconvenient. Principles should only be abandoned for other, higher principles.

I'm pretty atheistic. I tend to think in terms of "what if supernatural/religion WAS real" and in that scenario Sola doesn't know what she would be, except it wouldn't be monotheistic. I have a deep aversion to monotheism.

Everyone needs a code of honor BUT it doesn't have to come from a holy book. I based mine off logic and evolutionist thought.

1. Allow any human being to engage in any activity as long as they are only endangering themselves and other consenting individuals. No matter how stupid or insane it may seem.

2. Promote freedom of speech and press and oppose all forms of censorship

3. Fight for logic and rationality.

4. Educate people so they may become less ignorant

5. Fight against anti-science

6. Protect the rights of those who cannot protect their own

I live by these rules and think I'll die defending these values
