Conversation Piece - David Bowie

I took this walk to ease my mind
To find out what's gnawing at me
Wouldn't think to look at me,
That i've spent a lot of time in education
It all seems so long ago
I'm a thinker, not a talker
I've no-one to talk to, anyway

I can't see the road
For the rain in my eyes
Ahhh ...

I live above the grocers store,
Owned by an austrian
He often calls me down to eat
And he jokes about his broken english,
Tries to be a friend to me
But for all my years of reading conversation,
I stand without a word to say

I can't see the bridge
For the rain in my eye
Ahhh...

And the world is full of life
Full of folk who don't know me
And they walk in twos or threes or mor
While the light that shines above the grocer's store
Investigates my face so rudely
And my essays lying scattered on the floor
Fulfill their needs just by being there
And my hands shake, my head hurts,
My voice sticks inside my throat
I'm invisible and dumb,
And no-one will recall me

And i can't see the water
Through the tears in my ey-y-yes

smiths 'how soon is now':

I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
Of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am Human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does

There's a club, if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go, and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home
And you cry
And you want to die

When you say it's gonna happen now,
Well, when exactly do you mean?
See I've already waited too long
And all my hope is gone

"Left of Center" by Suzanne Vega

If you want me,
You can find me
Left of center off of the strip
In the outskirts and in the fringes
In the corner, out of the grip
(repeat)

When they ask me
What are you looking at?
I always answer, nothing much, not much
I think they know I'm looking at them
I think they think I must be out of touch
But I'm walking in the outskirts
And in the fringes, on the edge and off the avenue
Oh and if you want me, you can find me
Left of center, wondering all about you

I think that somehow, somewhere inside of us
We must be similar, if not the same
So I continue to keep wanting you
Left of center, against the grain

If you want me, you can find me
Left of center, off of the strip
In the outskirts, and in the fringes
In the corner, out of the grip
When they ask me
What are you looking at?
I always answer, nothing much, not much
I think they know I'm looking at them
I think they think I must be out of touch

If you want me, you can find me
Left of center, off of the strip
In the outskirts, and in the fringes
In the corner, out of the grip.

Pink Floyd - The Happiest Days of our Lives

When we grew up and went to school
There were certain teachers who would
Hurt the children in any way they could

"OOF!" [someone being hit]

By pouring their derision
Upon anything we did
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids
But in the town, it was well known
When they got home at night, their fat and
Psychopathic wives would thrash them
Within inches of their lives.

Or...

Pink Floyd- Hey You

Hey you, out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old
Can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles
Can you feel me?
Hey you, dont help them to bury the light
Don't give in without a fight.

Hey you, out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me?
Hey you, with you ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
Would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home.

But it was only fantasy.
The wall was too high,
As you can see.
No matter how he tried,
He could not break free.
And the worms ate into his brain.

Hey you, standing in the road
always doing what you're told,
Can you help me?
Hey you, out there beyond the wall,
Breaking bottles in the hall,
Can you help me?
Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall.

Any of the songs from Pink Floyd "The Wall" are good.

Enh. I really love that album and have a rather strong emotional attachment, but making our theme song something that is basically a cry for help? I'm against that on the basis of pride.

Now I've got "Left of Center" running through my head and I'm adding images to it and turning it into a PSA in my head. Sadly, I don't have a video camera, so this won't amount to anything. But that's the kind of thing I would think you would want for a song.

My two cents. Of course, I think it's absolute, but I also know how I get. :D

I listened to Pink Floyd "The Wall" a few thousand times over the years. I would play
the tapes (8 track) at first endlessly for years till when the last tape broke and I went
to college and then a few years later obtained digital copies though I lost most my obession for it. I have special like for "Another Brick in the Wall part II" it was banned at the my group home( i was in when 14 for breaking the law) becuase they said it sounded like "....we do not nedd jesus.." They said.
Any way Its good a few other aspie like it too. Yeah I doubt it would be a very PC
set of songs for the aspie movement but I do not give a f**K about being PC. So
I pick it too. :D

Since the entire year of 1984 I was a ward of the state (oh much longer till 21
on paper) . The book and movie 1984 seemed important to me later. Oh at the same time I become obessed in 1984 that the number 3 had some importants to my life.
I read this year Tesla had an obession with the number 3. Which got me thinking I'm
alot like him I invent things to.I'm not near as smart as him so do not look for my
product at Walmart :D

I discovered "the Wall" in grade 6. I was at my friends house, and he played it for me. It touched a nerve in me. I loved it instantly, and now, having discovered Aspergers, I understand why.

Now, the album is about someone walling themselves away and going crazy, but damned if it doesnt sound a lot like AS too. WHiel the lyrics are often a cry for help, when I listen to it, I hear joy at times. The singer, Roger Waters, really seems to be getting something off his chest.

Its all one big story line, all interconnected. Its very much a rock Opera of sorts. At the end is both sad and a victory.

Also, there is a lot of background talking and noises that remind me of sensory issues.
