Since I came across ASDs February last year I'm obsessed with them and I'm obsessed with my own, too. :) Also, my first language is not English, and I'm somewhat obsessed with learning it (without having good language learning skills). The combination of the two is my participation on WP.

All these promise some practical use to me, so I gladly follow them.

Self-improvement like reinforcing and understanding your mind better with self-therapy, using supplements with benefical qualities, using meditation techniques to relax and so on.

Stones and gems have a special place too. I used to be more obsessed with them when I was younger, but looking at ores and stones and crystals still incite an unexplainable excitement. Maybe I'm a dwarf 8O

Studio Ghibli films I have gotten into lately despite their annoyance to end the film in the worse way possible (85% of the time, usually as soon as a threat is killed/stopped, they give a quick "goodbye" before the film ends) and have Japanese credits/lyrics that I won't understand.

Although my mains are SEGA games and Island Record Artists.

Honestly, I've been completely obsessed with Autism (all forms) for the last couple of weeks. I almost feel exhausted just thinking about it, but I'm still really interested.

One of my intermittent obsessions is the Church of Scientology. This started in the late 90s when I started hanging out in alt.religion.scientology and the IRC channel #clambake. I'd had a brush with the Church when I was 18, and after experiencing their "auditing" process, I concluded that it was not actually a means of helping people, but a means of breaking down their natural psychological defenses. To exhaust them so as to more easily indoctrinate them. In short, it was very similar to certain brainwashing techniques I had read about a few months previously. So finding out what the CoS was really like has become an on-again/off-again obsession.

Another one is military history. I studied World War II to death during my final year in high school. I focused primarily on the naval and air elements, and most especially read about fighter planes, but I ended up reading a lot about WWII.

Don't know if it is an obsession, but I would love to have a big 4wheel drive pickup truck. But it would have to be any color except black. I hate black vehicles of any kind.

My interests are pretty much static. I have probably posted on this subject to the point everyone on WP is about to kill me. Here they are anyways (a small list of them): heavy weapons, cats, the Cold War and Atomic Age, Civil Defense (WWII, Cold War and modern international), body modification, religions/cultures, industrial/EBM/Elektro music, art, people's motives, bunkers, 40K, militaria and taphonomy.

Have you ever seen the ones by Hayao Miyazaki? I highly suggest them. His work is like...a masterpiece. Ponyo is the only movie that has ever been able to put me to sleep at night during my sleepless nights when my anxiety is high.

Heh... that's another one of my long term obsessions. I usually obsess over certain movies of his so it's both long term and short term. But one movie always seems to stand out the most for me and that's Ponyo. <3

My previous short term obsessions have been:

Ariana Grande (I was obsessed with her for a while but now the obsession part has passed)
Katy Perry (Same with Ariana)

Some of my weirder ones would be my Finn hat. I have a lot of cute hats with ears on them so I would obsess over them for a while. Lately it's been my Finn hat (Finn from Adventure Time) Because I had an Adventure Time obsession for a while. So lately I've been obsessed with my Finn hat.

I also have obsessions with certain female names. Once in a while I'll hear names I really like and use them for my characters in my stories. The current name obsession i have is for the name Jade.

Wolves. Especially after I visited some and petted them in Florida recently. Now I can't stop thinking about wolves. I'm going to redecorate my bathroom with wolves. I just got a wolf shower curtain and toilet seat yesterday.

They're in my video here:

My current obsession is too strong for any of those "sub-obsessions", but during the lull between this (music composition/production) and the last (Pokémon), I had a few weeks of obsession with lockpicking. I think I might buy a cheap lockpick kit from somewhere and mess around with it, it still seems like a cool thing to be able to do.
