Thanks so much everyone! I'm also finding that music is a huge help, especially when the headphones are noise canceling. It helps me to not only ignore whatever it is that is stressing me out (typically noise) and focus my attention on the music instead.

- tryptophan supplements - works good against depression
- a lot of good coffee - boosts my mood, gives me more "life force"
- e-cigarette I made myself
- large, noise-cancelling headphones - but not for music - to show anyone "I'm not listening"
- my two cats
- my kindle - having all my favorite books with me makes me happy
- large beer in the evening

On a day when I am feeling particularly out of sorts, I find that taking an extra long shower is helpful. I always shower in the dark so the extra time in silence under the water stream in the dark helps me to take a break from sensory stuff and social stuff. Its like a mini vacation. Once my mind is calmed down and my body relaxed, I try to keep it that way. Stay quiet and do something you enjoy. Reading a good book, watch good movie, or listen to my favorite music. oh and have a special snack. It keeps your blood sugar nice and calm too.

I listen to my music a lot. I read and make sure that I have a lot of "me" time. I also like going on the computer a lot during this time.

Well, here's what I've found helps me sometimes...

- Listening to music, particularly soothing music....I have a bunch of lullabies and slow songs on my MP3 player for this very purpose. I have have upbeat songs on it, too, for dancing around my room...one of the things I do to stim.

- Email/call my aunt and vent to her....I don't do this often, tho, since I don't like to burden her with my issues or for her to think I'm just an incredibly negative person, but when I've taken just about all I can and do decide to vent to her, she's always understanding and able to talk me down, and lets me know she cares. :D

- Cuddling with my plushies

- Spending time with my die cast Cars...just petting them, holding them, talking to them, etc.

- Watching a movie I enjoy (like Cars or Cars 2, in my case  )

- Draw some cartoons

- Take a nap...after a nice 3 - hour nap, I can handle anything.

- Let yourself have a treat...go to a coffee shop, get some ice cream/snacks, order some inexpensive stuff online, whatever.

- Have a small "grounding" object...I have several: My stuffed dolphin, Dory, Truffles, a Blue Nose Friend pig, my Calico Critters cat, Miss Important, and a die cast of Susie, my favorite little blue Car. :D I carry them in my bag.

Anyway, those are a few things I do to get thru the day...hope this is helpful.
