There's very few dance events in HS over here, compared to the US.

I didn't go to any high school proms, dances, or sporting events. I don't like sports and I don't dance. I also never had any opportunity to go since the last year I was in normal classes in a normal school was sixth grade.

I went to my high school prom. One of the worst things I've ever done. I felt extremely anxious and self-conscious, got a massive headache due to all the noise and all the people and I felt generally depressed. It all ended with me sitting alone at a table taking care of my classmate's bags etc while they were dancing and drinking. Then I left early.

I didn't go to any of the dances. In elementary school there was a mandatory dance…I was "sick" that day.

I did go to a few of the sports events, but only to screw around with friends inside the school, never to watch the sports.

i was never interested.... lots of things in life just pass me by in that way... I do wonder sometimes whether the aspies who complain about being left out are revising history... cuz tbh, back when i was a kid that kind of stuff never interested me and i don't know how any aspie, in this most exciting time when everything is new (being a kid) could even find time to waste on things like social crap. Not when nts are so lacking in substance.

I danced, but to songs that I liked and requested. Although, for the most part I sat outside to get some 'fresh air' or sat away from the music for a bit with my one friend.

...Just to add, I'm NEVER doing that again and I told my mum this too, as soon as I got home.

Does being on the football team as a bench warmer count as sports? But with that went to a couple informal Homecoming dances stag with a few other people on the team. Zero chance of ever going to a prom (costs and having to find a date, which i never did)

No to all three. These sort of dances are designed for posers to show off and be better than everyone else, same goes for sports too actually.

I went to my high school prom but I didn't go with a guy, I went with one of my friends who actually came from a different high school, my old high school. Thinking back it was kind of embarrassing. The after-party was alright though.

I went to a couple of the high school dances but they were lame as they were just in the school cafeteria, most people ended up skipping them which I started doing in the later grades and they were eventually cancelled by the staff since most students took the opportunity to skip the dances and go home as they were in the middle of the day. We had semi-formals which I didn't go to.

I never went to any sports games as I wasn't into preppy guys plus sports bore me and since I didn't like anyone on the sports teams it didn't interest me at all. I certainly wasn't on any sports teams as I was horrible at team sports and uncoordinated.
