I can see how that could be very useful in certain situations.

Verbally, [and slow is good] 'Officer, I am on the autism spectrum.' [pause]

Pauses are okay.

And verbally, if you say more than this, or over-explain (which I certainly can do :D ) you risk the dynamic of "giving the cop a hard time" Or, being perceived as some drug addict just spouting off some line of sh!t.

A printed card will likely be taken much more seriously. And I like the idea of keeping it immediately behind my ID so I can easily hand both to a police officer at the same time.

And maybe the self-serve business card machine I've seen at Fed Ex-Kinkos.

I only get nervous when they're in my rearview mirror.

I get scared when I see police cars. I'm always afraid I'm going to be arrested even though I've never done anything illegal.

It doesn't bother me, unless the blue lights are flashing, which indicates that the siren may suddenly turn on at any second, making me horribly on edge.

Same here as well. I actually feel a sense of relief if I see them because other drivers actually make me more nervous because so many people are distracted or some are in such a hurry that they drive recklessly.

The same way I felt before I saw it.

I always feel nervous when I see police. I have no idea why. I have no reason to be worried

I feel safe, because the cops are probably keeping the wiggers/gangstas at bay.

Neutral. I see it as just another car on the road (with more "accessories").

Actually, thinking about it. It would be good if it was the the police car from Superbad.

That would be fun.

I'm the opposite. When I am walking, I don't mind, but if I am driving, I suddenly become hyper-aware of everything I am doing, and I usually immediately take my foot off the gas! It is probably because I am a fairly strict rule-follower, except when I am driving. 55 mph just won't do it for me! LOL!

I seem to be a police magnet these days. Possibly because the vehicles I ride and work on are 1/1000 compared to actual motorcycles.

In my city of residence the police do not fulfill the job description and have scandals to the tune of 2 or 3 every year. It's well-spoken and unspoken that they treat their own citizens like criminals. Of course not every cop is bad, I know someone's son who serves here but he is effectively swimming up a waterfall

I always breathe a little easier once I'm outside my city boundaries.

Motor cops I am wary of; 99.8% of their job duties are to issue traffic citations.

My original point of thought - in suburban environments where a lot of jurisdictions overlap, some agencies are more lax on some policies, as long as you are not observed doing anything blatantly stupid you won't even blip on their radar. They all have their patterns if you observe long enough

Now, in your part of the country and your community, is it common for people to be walking in the middle of the day, or is it something uncommon that might draw attention?

I don't, unles I know that I'm doing something that I'm not supposed to be doing. Either way I never really panic when I see the police. I'm a pro at getting out of and helping people get out of bad situations anyway.
