I had buck teeth as well until I ended up getting braces at 12 I used to get called beaver

Not long after my permanent teeth came in, I overheard my grandfather say to my mother( on the phone): "Tell the Chinaman Happy Birthday. "

Severe overbite here. Top teeth can completely hide bottom ones when jaw is clenched. To boot, most of my bottom front adult teeth "came in" way under my tongue and had to "make their own way" forward to be in a line, which is horizontally but not vertically straight.

And I got a great tooth chip to go with the look, from a discharging quick-connect air fitting coming off a chipping air hammer that i was using at the steel mill I work at. Lucky for me, OSHA had everybody put "whip check" cables on air fittings after the fact.

To accompany this, I've had chronic TMJ on my left side since I was about 10. My jaw used to dislocate in my sleep, which was painful and distressing.

buck teeth, overbite, used to be a worse overbite before I was stuck in braces for 5 years. My overbite wasn't just an overbite either, I had a deep overbite, meaning, my front teeth covered my bottom teeth and my bottom front teeth used to hit the roof of my mouth.

Also doesn't help the appearance of my buck teeth that I have tmd/tmj (not as bad as it used to be) because my teeth didn't come together right after having too many teeth were removed, and also, that I grinded my teeth down quite badly from being on lots of adhd medication (yes, it is a side effect). So essentially, except for my two front teeth, everything else is scraped pretty flat.

I had buck teeth and a really bad underbite when I was a teenager. Had it fixed with braces as well as a contraption which dragged my jaw forwards for a couple of years and added to the lisp I already have. Suffice to say the years from about 13-15 were not fun!

I've seen that on those with Mental Retardation more.

No buck teeth, but an overbite that needed correcting. I had to get a rapid maxillary expansion to widen my jaw and I needed speech therapy to shift my tongue to the correct position in my mouth when speaking and swallowing (I would push forward on my teeth). I also needed braces.

I had to google both terms!

I guess I have buck teeth, but that's because I still suck my thumb

I had braces when I was younger, but for some reason ''traintrack'' braces actually were very socially acceptable at my school for a while, so I wasn't the only kid who had them. I even for popular for a while when I had traintracks!

I think because we normally have odd diets, and therefore could be low on calcium, we're more likely to have teeth problems.

I hope that buck teeth doesn't give away my AS to the whole world.

I too needed braces to correct buck teeth. I also have a slight overbite.

I have a gap between my front upper teeth and a slight overbite. I never got them corrected because they don't bother me. I find the shallow obsession with perfect teeth (which is a lot more prevalent in some countries than others) to be confusing. Also dentistry is very expensive. My teeth are hygienic, they don't smell and I can cut and grind food with them - those are all of my teeth criteria ticked off so I don't care about a couple of slight imperfections.

I have crowded dentition, even after extensive orthodontic work (not for cosmetic purposes either).

I still have an overbite, and when I was a kid I had buck teeth too, but they just went away on their own. No braces.

My cousins called me "bunny" because my favorite food was carrots so I was always gnawing on one.

I have quite a big overbite, the dentist suggested I could get braces to fix it but I don't care. Although I wouldn't say I have buck teeth.
