What do you consider smalltalk?

Meaningless social interactions done by NTs to break the ice and create some social repoire between each other. I find small talk hard some of the times. Its more about the way the interaction goes. Im not good at sporatic bits of small talk hopping between person to person. I'm only fine with small talk if its kinda focused and consistent.

Are your tomatoes somewhat hard this year ?

Talking for the sake of talking. Asking questions such as "are you having a holiday this year" (typical hairdresser one) and other pointless exchanges. I think it's so hard because Aspies talk when there is a purpose to it, and has logic, there is a reason to engage in the conversation and information that is useful can be gleaned. If none of those purposes are served it becomes pointless. I think also, when there is a problem with social cues, there can be social anxiety which makes small talk a lot harder (or any talk). I personally hate people asking me questions about myself as it's intrusive, and small talk often includes such questioning.
