My dad pays about $540 a year (so basically a tax, as there is no copay as we go along) for the whole family, I believe its taken out of his paycheck at the beginning of the fiscal year. He is with the United States Army so my medical care with the insurance we have is free. It's a good thing to because I don't know how I would have afforded all these appointments and medications, especially with me having type 1 diabetes on top of it. I would say the medical care I receive is excellent, no long waits and no pay, but I realize that it is not typical of the standard American household.

So the evaluation is $0 for me.

In the U.S.: If there child is severely autistic most likely the public school system will do the evaluation or pay a private evaluator to do it.
