I usually do this when my carpal tunnel syndrome and RA symptoms flare up. Something about the heat generated from my body and pressure helps temporarily.

It is very bad for you to suppress your stims. It can even cause depression. We stim for a reason - allow yourself that freedom if not for anything other than your health. I made myself a stimming necklace - it helps heaps and is acceptable by all the NT's that have no clue why you do it so much.

As for this post answer - I sit on my hands and feet too. A lot of the time I put my foot to sleep then limp around swearing to never do it again...

I have to do it when my husband drives because my hand motions are distracting to him and if I don't sit on my hands I'll never be able to keep them still.

Do you do the same?

Yes I do. I like the pressure on my hands and arms. Also if a chair has armrests, instead of sitting on my hands I often press my arms very hard on to the armrests, almost with enough pressure to lift me out of the seat. And if I'm in a seat like at the cinema then I'll often trap my arms between the sides of the seat and my body. I just really like the pressure and I know it helps to calm me down in some circumstances.

Yeah, I sit on my hands a lot. It's not really a conscious thing; I kind of do it automatically, though I constantly stim or fiddle with my hands otherwise.

Yes.

On one of these tests was a question that said, "Do you ever feel like you don't know what to do with your arms?" I just about jumped out of the chair when I read that. My first thought was, OMG,HOWDIDYOUKNOW? Then I took a breath, and that was the exact moment I went from wondering to knowing. Ohhhhhh, yeah. OK. This is it. Aspergers.

I sit on my hands and sleep on my arms. I like the feeling. Maybe it's a type of stim? I don't know.

I always sleep on my stomach with my hands under me. Gives me deep pressure when my girfriend isn't around to give me it.
