I used to take such hot baths that I would almost pass-out when I stood up to get out.I would have to go lay down quick before I lost consciousness...is this medical...maybe it was from having generally low blood pressure.Anyway,I dont do it any more.

I dont like showers because I hate to get my face "splashed"...I dont mind washing it with wash cloth but just hate splashing feeling...dont get my face wet when I am swimming....I hold it above the water and do a breast stroke or back stroke with my head help out of water...looks ridiculous I am sure.Even as a kid,I refused to swim around "splashy kids" and kept my back to everybody when they were "playing"....knowing this, they loved to torture me by splashing and I would have to get out.

What I hate is having "sticky fingers".....I find eating drippy fruit(most of it) and have to keep a wet wash cloth near,to wipe them on...mostly, I just dont eat it.

I'm also one who loves hot showers and sitting in a hot bath for an hour or so. I especially love that a new water heater was put in, with more gallons available last week. Before, I'd seriously boil more water for a bath as the water that was heated was warm at best, and didn't last long. I wouldn't consider it to be an obsession because for cleanliness, you need hot water in addition to soap. I have to shower every day or I feel dirty.

I like hot baths myself.
I used to make them so hot that one side of my body was totally red.
The best part about it is the start when the hot water only runs over a small part of me and the rest is still cold.
Than it's the most enjoyable.
I also used to near faint every time i came out of these hot baths.
For about 5 seconds id lose control over my body.
Luckily i didn't fall :P

People always tel me wow your room is extremely warm.
But i enjoy it alot that way while others cannot stand it and say it's humid.
They'd be like im opening a window because i'm choking. (usually in autumn or late summer).
Than i'd get a sore throat and start coughing because it's cold and there is alot of moist in the air.

As much as i like the warmth, i hate and can't stand the cold.
When we go out to swim it takes me like 20 minutes to get into the water.
Than for another 10 minutes i'l be shaking with goosbumps all over me.
In the winter i always have problems with my hands getting undercooled.

I proberbly enjoy the heat so much because i'm kind of cold blooded compared to other people.
Unless i'm really busy physically like at work or sports i tend to get cold.

Flagg,

WOW! Will the soap even melt in water that cold?????

For our imperially challenged friends, flagg is talking about water 2C-2.25C! YEP! Just above FREEZING!

Steve

Solid bars of soap become bricks at 35F. I use liquid soap.

I'm just the kind of person who is very tolerant of cold (fitting since I live in a very cold state) but hate heat. (I'm uncomfortable at 80F and just freeze up at 90F)

OH, I HATE 80F! I can MAYBE tolerate up to 100F if it is somewhat dry, but I REALLY hate it! Yesterday It was RAINING, and I LOVED IT! 52F! I'm ok as long as it stays above approx 21F! Don't ask me HOW I stand it! I once went out, and thought I was getting OLD! I thought it was a little too cold for my liking. It was 5F!! !! That actually made me feel better.

BTW for those that are curious? 5F=-15C! Yeah, I know.... 15 degrees BELOW freezing! I actually went outside WITHOUT a coat once, got in my car, and a coke I had in my car the day before was frozen SOLID! It WAS a nice treat though! I hate warm coke. 8-)

Another thing to add to this thread, which I think is relevant now that I've thought about it.

After I've had a shower I use a hairdryer to dry my hair. But always I first, and regularly throughout drying, direct the nozzle onto the skin of my back. I hold it there until it hurts. I must do that several times when drying my hair.

Occasionally, I turn the heat down a little so that it never manages to quite burn, but it still feels 'right'. I then direct it even more obliquely down my back so that the hot air goes all the way down my backbone to my bottom. I could sit like that for hours, I have to admit that for me, the feeling is so fantastic that it is almost reaching to o.

Too much information? Probably. But if this is 'stimming', it's the best kind.

Emma.

For you all that enjoy long, hot showers, you might want to get an on-demand hot water heater. They heat the water instantly as it flows through it, versus a tank water heater that heats a bunch of water up slowly then stores it up for your shower

They also use less energy.

I had to get one because while I cant stand touching water when I do manage to grit my teeth and get in a bath (still cant take showers) and get used to it then the problem becomes getting me out :P

I also have to have nearly boiling hot water (I think its because it numbs my skin so I cant feel the water touching me) and turn into a lobster.. I still have steam coming off me for like 15 minutes after I get out :P
