I will never forget being bullied in high school and thought the teachers, counselors, etc. were on my side, only to find a chilly turnaround SUDDENLY.

Who knows what the bully said to the counselors. Who knows who they believed. Of course, there are two sides to every story. However, I clearly recall being followed around in high school and continually being called "fat ***", "whale" and "elephant". .

The school counselor seemed sympathetic at first but a week later I lost all that support without warning. Of course, I could still see the counselor but it was clear who she believed.

I will never forget the incident to this day. It has caused severe trust issues.

Have you ever felt supported by people, only to find that they suddenly withdrew that support and you were left out in the cold?

If so, how did it make you feel?

I work in an envoirnment where this happens all the time. Then when the really bad stuff happens, and its the result of some other action, and not mine directly, or some fool makes a seriously huge career ending move, and then I play that whole I told you so, and you just didnt believe me deal.

Yes. At work I am always the scapegoat.

Today was the last day before the holidays, my two workmates both hugged the boss & wished her happy xmas etc. They were given the presents which had been left for all of us by some clients, I didn't even get a goodbye from the boss (although I get on ok with the two workmates). Reason? I once complained about being paid a few hundred pounds short over the course of a year.

I had everything detailed and documented, I was genuinely owed it, and was eventually paid it, but I made the boss look bad for not believing me before my complaint went in.

So I proved I was right at the expense of being miserable in my job forever after.

No matter who makes a mistake, the boss implies it must be me, carefully so I can't claim victimisation. Not that anyone would side with me anyway.

It started just with her, but has spread, so people who were once friendly aren't any more. I don't get to hear gossip, normally I don't want to, but it upsets me that she is probably spreading lies about me and I can't do anything about it because I am not part of that.

Many times, most of the time even, but I've blocked the details from memory.

In sixth grade I had a school counselor tell me that people treated me the way that they did because of the way I acted.

Well she didn't give me any advice and I didn't know what I was doing wrong or how to act any other way. I refused to go see her after that. The same person also tried to keep my mother on the phone once when my mother needed to hang up to walk me home from the bus stop because some boys had thrown rocks at me.

Stupid Christians.

Well then, be Robin Williams type mentally ill.

No, that would worse.

Better idea: Inform newcomers, especially young adults, to watch out for "that weird, old guy over there", and then tell them why.

It seems to be working. The elder had an argument with his favorite daughter last week over his actions, and she has forbade him from ever visiting her house, ever again.

Yes I have, but we have to remember that this sort of thing happens to all kinds of people. I just watched a movie about Stalin which put this thread into perspective for me. People can be incredibly awful to each other under the right circumstances.

It happened to me with a car accident a couple of months ago, which I wasn' t responsible for . I lost cause I couldn't handle myself under pressure and I got perceived to be a liar by the court and police.

that really hurts

Not all Christians are like that, so it's unfair to lump us all into one bundle.

Yes, and it is still painful. It has contributed to the feeling of 'voicelessness' I have long had.

NTs hunt in packs.

If you aren't part of a pack you are easy meat.

They don't examine the morality of it because they don't need to, if the majority think something, then that is right, they think no deeper.

There are exceptions, but thats not what this thread is about.

You are saying Aspies never bully someone?

Almost always for me too.

People will side with the powerful and popular simply to protect themselves. Siding with the one about to be crushed like a bug is to be crushed alongside them.

I weep for humanity.

I am allergic to Christians...but then not every Christian is a Taliban.
