in order to have asperger's...
I have the coordination issues-- I joke that I can't even chew gum at the same time. My obsessions vary in duration, and sometimes go away as fast as they appeared. Some last years, some last minutes.
One caveat, though.... a lot of the symptoms being discussed here are not necessarily AS symptoms. I know NTs that can spew massive amounts of detail about sports teams, and with the advent of fantasy football, I'm seeing more of this. I know plenty of NTs that get obsessed with videogames-- I know at least one whose divorce was at least largely in part due to the time spent on EverQuest.
I always find it amusing that I am NOT obessed with videogames. I will periodically play Command and Conquer Generals, though it's reached the point where I'm less interested in winning the game than I am in seeing if I can meet some new goal in the process... for example, do the whole game relying only upon a specific type of unit to get the job done. Another game I play is Alpha Centauri (basically Civilization II.V), but I often get bored once I reach the point where I'm having to manage a large number of units. And I always play the same faction, and follow the same rules of conduct. I keep trying to get members of my family to play the game so I can play against someone other than the computer.
