What about staring at a white wall? That always gives me blue and yellow blobs that dance and contract and expand, almost like spreading oil slicks. And static on top of it.

Your blue and yellow blobs sound cool - I hope they are not bothersome!

In response to migraine sufferers ... I get visual auras, but they are acute and pass. I have no idea if snow is connected to a predisposition to migraines. Though I am sure if I get my butt up to follow the link a poster kindly provided on this thread to show us a visual of snow, there is probably some good information there on this question  Thank you! I will look now :D

Great visuals!!

The swirls down the list are what I was talking about, if that's what you were wondering. Its good to know I'm not cray-cray. Well I am in a sense, but pft.
The swirls I see are more transparent and less consuming to my vision. Although, a couple times I've had some opaque lights fill my vision with no migraine. Scared me but I slept it off.

Me too. 8O I definitely experience mild visual snow on a near constant basis. I remember being a little kid and looking out at a white wall, and noticing how I saw something that resembled static on TV. My brain normally tunes it out, though.

Wow... I am so glad I found this thread. I would never have realized that what I'm constantly seeing isn't normal. This happens ALL the time.

I LOOOOOVE these!

I can watch them for at least 30 seconds without getting bored. That's a pretty solid chunk of time in real life!

This is what I always see, mega floaters.

That's mine, too. I get this.

This is sort of, but not quite, like my blue and yellow oily mess.

I also get a swirling dark blob ... in the dark off all things.

Yes, but only in a very bright situation, such as when looking at the sky during the day, and then I have to look for it, it doesn't usually intrude on my vision, if that makes sense. Mine is like shooting sparkles.

I also see visual snow a lot,and also swirling colors when it is dark.

I have often wondered what causes these things.

I was going to say yes because I see static but after looking at that I realize I don't have visual snow. It's static and it is more predominant in the dark but it doesn't look like those pictures. In the dim room I'm in right now I see static on the walls and a little bit extended away from the walls but the middle of the room is clear. There isn't a sheet of static across my visual field the effect is 3 dimensional.

Whatever I'm experiencing right now makes the walls, objects, and surfaces around me look like television screens with poor reception but the area between me and those objects/surfaces is clear.

In much darker conditions the static starts to come out into the center of the room and then it is a little more like the picture but still not the same. Then it's like I am surrounded by clouds of staticy particles that fill the air. It still isn't like I'm wearing snowy glasses it's more like I'm imersed in a cloud of static that fills the room.

When I heard about visual snow I thought maybe I finally had a word for whatever I've been experiencing but it turns out I still don't know what to call it.

I wonder, seaturtle, if it isn't still a related phenomenon. Interesting, regardless. I wonder if it has synesthetic connections - do you experience synesthesia - I am just venturing guesses out of curiousity. I find it very interesting.

Same here, and never paid much attention. I can't focus on large fields/areas anyway, so it's no surprise.

I don't get the snow, but I do get floaters and the odd strange squiggly abberations. Never really though about it before though, guess it just seemed normal to me.
