xD it's such a crazy thing.

You can't take talk about this anywhere else, half the reason l still post here sometimes. To an NT and even to some Aspies this is just lunacy or indicative of a more serious illness.

l've always become other people very easily, l have to try NOT to do so.

lt works with with my introversion in a funny way too because some of the personas l take on aren't even introverted.

l've tried to talk with NT introverts about simply "becoming" more extroverted (haven't gone into talk about adopting another personality, am not stupid enough to say something like that to them) and have been shut down and basically told l was ignorant and didn't understand how introversion works.

Which, l do understand that it's not something all introverts can do, by all means, but l have been able to "step outside" of my wiring, though l am aware it will at some point collapse or l'll just lose interest.

Have been repeating this cycle for years.

BEFORE l knew Abed from Community was supposed to be spectrumy l noticed him doing the same thing, l think people are confusing it for something deliberate. lt's really something l struggle to control.

And l've never, not once in my life made up matching life experiences for these personas lol. l'd say that's bordering on the cray cray.

Yes, and it's what led to the discovery of my bi-genderism. So... I guess that's a good thing? Although I almost wish I'd never found out...

EDIT: I just realized I already posted on this topic, lol. Well, both posts are accurate, so I guess it's ok. :P

Actually, yeah I did this in my last semester of HS, Class Clown. Actually pretty easy, being socially awkard & with some other issues it made it easy.
In college,, cynical & sophisticated, somewhat bored. Another easy one.
Nowdays, I prefer not to try any at all..

Sincerely,
Matthew

Maybe I'll adopt a new persona after I find myself employment and have enough money to buy my own house/apartment.

It's hard because many of us are born with a very constricted range of prosody. Were it not for this, I think I'd be good at it. You kind of have to look in unconventional places to find someone who can help you change it (an acting/voice coach in my case).

I recommend spending some time acting. It doesn't have to be professional or anything. Or you could try an RPG and practice getting into character. You can build on the skill over time until you can change yourself in the blink of an eye. People have occasionally confused me for being bipolar when they catch me doing this.
I don't see it as changing from being myself to putting on an act. I see it as displaying different parts of myself at different times; I physically can't show all of myself at once. (Like how you can't put two hand into one glove)

Wow, I didn't know other people did this lol

Yes, I do, and have, and still do sometimes, adopt a new persona. (keep in mind, I do this in the comfort of my own company, or when only family and close friends are around, or when I feel like making people wonder where I'm from :P )

I think the first one I did was a bit Scottish but was largely to practice accents (one of the hardest imo), back in '01 or '02.

The next one I did was English for the same reason.

Then I did Russian for a while, also for the same reason.

And nowadays I tend to talk and act myself but occassionally I'll get an accent (usually sounding Irish for some reason) totally by accident 8O
