Do people with asperger's tend to be control freaks?

I don't really like to try to take control over other people, in fact I'm really easy going where other people are concerned. However, I do like to be in control about myself.

Well, I tend to be a control freak. So much so, that when I was diagnosed last year, I was expecting a co-morbid diagnosis of OCPD (Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder) because:

- is preoccupied with details, rules, lists, order, organization, or schedules to the extent that the major point of the activity is lost - Sometimes
- shows perfectionism that interferes with task completion (e.g., is unable to complete a project because his or her own overly strict standards are not met) - Sometimes
- is excessively devoted to work and productivity to the exclusion of leisure activities and friendships (not accounted for by obvious economic necessity) - Yes
- is over conscientious, scrupulous, and inflexible about matters of morality, ethics, or values (not accounted for by cultural or religious identification) - Yes
- is unable to discard worn-out or worthless objects even when they have no sentimental value - No
- is reluctant to delegate tasks or to work with others unless they submit to exactly his or her way of doing things Yes
- adopts a miserly spending style toward both self and others; money is viewed as something to be hoarded for future catastrophes - Yes
- shows rigidity and stubbornness - Yes

I think the Psychologist decided that I did not have a Personality Disorder. Not certain why.

this is a reflection on the people who raised you... i'm not a control freak... others try to control me... i bite back
