The OP was rather complicated, but anyway I will give me answer.
I have social phobia, and all of my social fears are:-
Fear of failure
Fear of rejection
Fear of humiliation
Fear of ridicule
Fear of being watched
Fear of being judged
Fear of being misunderstood
Fear of a social faux pas
Fear of social criticism
Fear of being shown up due to social faux pas
When some of these things happen, I seem to get knocked back further. I am constantly afraid of all of these happening in day to day interaction, which is why I stay quiet a lot of the time. But then this makes me feel lonely.
It's a vicious circle:-
Asperger's = higher chances of making a social paux pas
Worried about a social faux pas = Social Phobia
Social Phobia = higher chances of being afraid of a social faux pas
Making a social faux pas = Asperger's.
I really think it is not right for a person on the spectrum to possibly have social phobia. The way I see it, people without Asperger's but with social phobia are more irrational thinkers because they are less likely to make a social faux pas all the time and are just irrationally afraid of it. And people on the spectrum who don't have any co-morbids like social phobia, are less likely to get depressed. People on the spectrum who do also suffer with social phobia just come off worse all round, and are more likely to end up desperately depressed and suicidal, due to all these harsh social rules and rejection.
