I've been thought of as slow but it's just that I like to think through what I'm going to say before I say it. I don't like being expected to give a quick 'off the cuff' answer without running it past my brain first.
I have an aquaintance who asks me what I think about something, then because she can't wait until I've thought it through properly, jumps in and suggests what I might be going to say! She might as well talk to herself.

Even though I got a 135 on an IQ test I still consider myself a slow learner especially if it's learning something really complicated. I really get confused at first. Even more than the average NT would. When I first got my mortgage, all the different rules and forms just blew my mind and I just didn't want to deal with any of it. However after I focus my attention, I can get much deeper than an NT would, into whatever I'm trying to learn. Now I know all the ins and outs of having a mortgage.
