I absolutely hate this. No matter what answer I give, my pain is apparently really mild and that overrides anything and everything I say about being in pain.

I hate them because they do not have parameters as to ratios of comparison between degrees of pain and the numbers. How am I supposed to give an accurate description if I do not know how to use the scale if there is a mean and median to the scale and they will ignore verbal description?

In this case, I would troll a bit and would answer something like '3.4567' with an absolutely serious tone of voice.

Anyway, it's a weird scale. '1' means no pain at all?, then the scale only covers 9 degrees of pain difference, instead of 10, that would be the logic option.

I will occasionally go nonverbal in the early morning when my body is still trying to adjust to all the stimulus input. I can talk, but I find the thought of doing so unbearable because the energy it requires makes me feel terrible, and the sound of my own voice grates on my ears like nails on a chalk-board. It always goes away by the time I'm fully awake, but I hate it because I have school in the early morning and sometimes I have to talk when I'd rather do anything to keep quiet.

I do not experience it in the morning but the feelings you described, that is what it was like.

I looked up selective mutism but I do not think my sources where great because they did not make too much sense to me. I feel I am over the hump I am talking more again. Feel pretty normal. I think stress and over stimuli is a big factor.

I am feeling disconnected today. We have yet to ease into a routine and I am feeling detached or grumpy depending on the environment.

I barely talk ever because it's hard to find the right tone and figure out what to say. I just end up sounding creepy and weird.

I am thinking about adopting a minimalist approach to speech. I am getting really tired of trying to find the right ways and the right words. And quite hating the fact that people are always saying I am ARGUING when I am talking,.
