Yes I undersatnd this but I am absolute distress at the minute as my son has been statmented but has not been given a diagnosis as of yet.
I have been refered to a psychologist so I should maybe leave it at that for now.

I'm sorry you're distressed. I hope you can see a professional and get an answer soon and treatment if you need it.
Some people were being mean to you here IMO and I think it's because we get a new person asking if they're autistic everyday and people get sick of it. Still, I agree with red robin, someone who's distressed and having problems should be treated kindly whether they have AS or not (especially on and AS support forum) and even though we can't diagnose you I understand you wanting to hear the opinions of others with AS.
It's quite possible you have some of the genes and some autistic traits without having the full disorder itself , since your son has it. AS is polygenetic....you may have some of the contributing genes and have the broader phenotype. You can google Broader Autism Phenotype. My mum is a bit socially awkward and very shy and introverted and she has some sensory issues especially with what fabrics she wears. She doesn't think she has AS because she isn't severely impaired in her social interaction-she understands people well enough to hold down a job without too many problems and raise her two children-and even as a kid she didn't have a severe impairment. Also, she has no repetitive behaviors (intense interests that interfere with her functioning). She does display a lot of autistic traits and it's most likely because the thing is genetic and her kid has it so she probably does have some of the genes for it. You may actually have the disorder but if you don't have the severe impairment (problems at work, with your marriage, your kids ect) then this may be a better explanation. Again, I'm not a doctor and can't diagnose (which you know) but it's just another possibility to think about.
Good luck to you.
