I have a few relatives with Autistic traits, most notably my father and his late brother (my uncle) but I can say with 100% confidence I am the only person on the spectrum in the family.

My dad goes on and on about subjects and doesn't realize when people don't want to listen to him. He has some routines he has to follow rigidly- he has to get a particular table when he goes to the restaurants he always goes to , for example. He gets really mad when he's interrupted and once he was going on and on about something and his new wife started chocking on her food and everyone else at the table was trying to help her and ask if she was okay. Then when she stopped and people were still asking her he said "If you're done now I'd like to continue what I was saying" to his wife without asking if she was okay or anything .lol.

My mum has sensory issues with smell and touch and she wears her clothes inside at home to avoid having the seams touch her skin. She also cuts the tags off everything and can't stand them. She'll only buy shirts of certain fabrics. She's also really shy and introverted. She doesn't socialize much or have many friends. She has one who she sees every month or so and the friend gets mad at her for not keeping in touch enough. She hasn't dated in 20 something years -since she broke up with my dad.

One of my aunts on my mum's side is really blunt and sometimes says things that get her in trouble at work.

I'm pretty sure my mom was an aspie. My brother thinks our nephew might be autistic.
