I think many of us, after having experienced the discrimination and wrath of being outsiders and the NT group think, cannot, in good conscience, behave like those we detest. It would make us no better than them. You know how it feels, you don't like it when they behave that way, so how can you do the same? You'd be no better than them.

It might make us no better than them, but perhaps treating them harshly as well will make them realize they're not gonna be able to just walk all over us. I used to think it's wrong to be cruel to others but my lack of doing anything against the actions of others never stopped them from continuing to bully me. As I grew older, the discrimination simply became more subtle. I have an intense desire to be cruel to some people these days. Usually I'm not but I'm not afraid anymore to destroy the competition if they prevent me from reaching goals. That might make me no better than them morally but I get a kick of outperforming them at work even though the world makes it so hard for me. Being a little more cruel to others can be great for self-esteem.

Still, I do feel sometimes there would be no need for me to be cruel to others if the entire world was made of aspies. I'd also like to make clear that I usually don't treat people harshly, only when they're out to harm me in some kind of way.

I'm not delusional. I'm happy to be alive and I don't see my AS as a curse.

Only if the NT is the one defining what an appropriately wired brain is. There would be no trouble for people like us if the entire world was made of aspies and built for aspies.

Yes,aspies are better people. They don`t judge other people because of superficial things. They will help and defend people who have problems, who are rejected and abandoned. They are not scared to defend the truth and honesty. They are creative, good people. They are dedicated to things they love, regardless of what other people will say.

I think that, for some aspies, a lifetime of being different can give one a greater tolerance and appreciation of difference in others. It's one of those need to have been there to truly understand it kind of situations.

Sometimes I feel they are too and I'm NT!

Loyalty, non judgmentalness, etc. Those are good traits.

I agree with you on this one. I've learned not to hurt others because I've been hurt by many people in the past.

I don't think that people with AS are better then NTs, nor I think the opposite.
I don't see the world divided in "the NTs" and "the non-NTs".
I should meet a person and know that person well before I can say what I think about someone.

For example, in my local support group a couple of weeks ago:
A new guy, obviously the most disabled and clueless person in the room, made a childish comment that could easily have been misinterpreted as bigoted.
The second most clueless guy in the room, in what I believe was his first spontaneous comment in the several months he’s been with us,
latched onto the comment and called the first guy, “ignorant,” in a fairly obvious attempt to find a social stepping stone.
Kind of like saying, “Look at me, I’m more enlightened and politically correct that him.”
I know that the second guy didn’t understand his own underlying motives, and certainly didn’t know how obvious it was.
