One additional thing. When I do fall asleep in bed instead of the sofa or easy chair, I'm far more likely to get a full night's rest or even longer. On a sofa or easy chair, I tend to wake up after two to four hours. In bed, I can easily sleep eight or more hours.

I need stim / special interest alone time at the 'end' of my day. Since I was 16. Skipped sleep in the military for those precious hours. When married, I'd be up five hours later than my frequently unamused spouse. Totally nocturnal now. My 'sofa' is simply a schedule always askew from society's. It's 5:29am right now.

I'm an Aspie but I sleep in my bed every night. I always have slept in a bed (and a cot when I was a baby obviously). While everybody else around me are talking about how they are having sleepless nights because of the hot weather, I find I actually get straight into bed and go to sleep (after watching a DVD to wind down), and I don't wake up until a reasonable time in the morning.
