I love the idea and I'd love to contribute.

I'd first require a bit of info on how a wiki works, though. Things like, what is required in order for an edit to be accepted?

I like "Spectrum Wiki" but can`t help feeling "OtherWiki" rolls off the tongue easier....

it's time but it should be all about aspies and our culture, history, famous aspies, and our lingo. If not for us then because the NT's need somewhere to get reliable information.

I'm not a technical guru, but the technical side is that individuals can edit if they have electronic permission, usually done through registration. Edits can be reversed as well, with sufficient permissions.

From a practical perspective, any edit can be done as long as the admin has approved it.

Does that answer your question?

How do you get an admin to accept your edit?

If you have sufficient permissions (technical issue), it's automatic. It's a matter of getting permissions from the admin/responsable party.

It can't be just technical access. Probably someone is judging whether your new content is accurate fact or not.

Judging from WrongPlanet, I don't think a shortage of things to talk about would be an issue.

Well, there's lots of repetition here and topics that wouldn't fit in the wike because they're subjective appreciations, but still I don't think we have to compete for size with other encyclopedias. They come in all sizes.

Do WPers think that unregistered users/readers be allowed to read the webpage, or should it be like WP's "Member's Only", with readship limited to those who register?

I may put up a new poll on that question.

I think it's a great idea that's long overdue. :)

I'd say it's a source that's really needed. Not to mention Wikis tend to be a go-to source for most of the people I talk to. Good call :)

I believe that everybody should be able to read the webpage; the membership-only aspect may scare away people who would otherwise benefit from the information. Besides, isn't one of the major issues that this community faces is how uninformed many people are? The wiki being open would certainly make it easier to inform others of our perspective on things that pertain to us.

We could look at the policy of Wikipedia and then customize it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia: ... guidelines :D
They use "talk-pages" where people can discuss edits.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Using_talk_pages wrote:
A talk page (also known as a discussion page) is a page which editors can use to discuss improvements to an article or other Wikipedia page.

The talk page associated with an article is named "Talk:Example", where "Example" is the name of the article. For example, the talk page for discussion of improvements to the article Australia is named Talk:Australia. The talk page associated with a page in another namespace is named by adding "talk" after the namespace label; for example, the talk page for Wikipedia:About is called Wikipedia talk:About.

User pages also have associated talk pages (for example, User talk:Jimbo Wales). When other editors need to contact you, they will usually do this by leaving a message on your talk page. When someone has left you a message that way, you will see an orange information notice the next time you log in or view a page on Wikipedia (if you are editing as an IP address) or a red badge next to your username (if you are logged in).

What are some article topics to be included in the wiki?

I might be able to contribute some of the type that is cold science without personal perspectives.

Maybe reviews of topics in autism scientific literature for people to understand without having to read the journals and papers?

I think that there should be a section on cold science that is separate from other articles to maintain a store of information that is not associated with any opinion or movement, but just what are studies that have been done and how were they done and what were the results and what are the different takes on the results from a science perspective.
