My mankie (flannel crib blanket), I took it everywhere and held it up to my cheek with one hand while sucking my thumb on the other hand. I loved the way it felt on my cheek and between my fingers. My parents threw it away when I was 5. They told me it was in the garbage and they would not get it back

I sympathise. I was lucky enough to love satin coated cloth labels, so nobody could take them away from me. I still have a phone sock full of them which I carry around.

As for other things, I carry:

-Small Digital Camera
-Phone
-Two wallets
-Lighter (Even though I don't smoke. It''s just useful to carry around)
- A small pen knife.

and for longer journeys, I take my Kindle and glasses

I don't have any non-essential things on me at all times; that is, I have my wallet, keys, pocket knife, and iPhone everyday and everywhere I go when I'm in California. When in Texas, I have my gun in the waist band also, but that's illegal in CA as I only have a Texas carry permit. Before I had a phone (about 10 years ago), I always carried a AAA-size flashlight in that pocket. I'd still have one of those in addition to the phone, but I don't because anything else in that pocket will scratch the phone, and/or make it hard to get out. And the iPhone has a flashlight in it (an app), if I need it.

a small bible in my pocket or purse. my phone. they keep me connected.

money. keys.

sometimes also headphones for the phone to hear music. sometimes Chapstick. frequently hand sanitizer.

Also have become very attached to my chunky waterproof watch, which tells me the day of the week, month, and of course time. I even wear it in the shower. :-)
