I think the symbol of autism and AS should be a light bulb, colored in cyan, magenta, and yellow stripes. The light bulb would symbolize intelligence, a common trait in AS individuals. The colors mentioned would symbolize art (painting, to be exact), as many painters in history didn't fit into mainstream society.

How about an image of Einstein strangling a curebie with one of it's own gay ribbons?

Would be too hard for a small symbol but would make an excellent ND T-shirt. I think alot of people on the spectrum would appreciate the humor.

I think the lightbulb would be good - it would both symbolize the often overlooked intelligence of those on the spectrum plus the need to illuminate the ignorance society has about those on the spectrum.

Here's one I dreamed up not too long ago; not a direct graphic symbolization of AS/HFA (more a reference to our attitude), but could come to be associated with it over time:

I like it. Asperion had another good one a while ago. Definitely doesn't look "gay." No offense to gays.

Asperion, Just asking something as your logo is a repeated 3d back graphic as in running down a never ending corridor?

You mean like an M.C. Escher drawing?

I suppose it could be looked at that way (we find all sorts of patterns in everything, after all), though it was certainly not my conscious intention at the time that I came up with it.

I like it, interesting design, but could it be a bit too "combative" for an Autism-related logo?
...."NTs, respect us, or prepare to have the crap kicked out of you!".... :D

It looks too much like a deformed swastika.

I think a cat would be a good symbol, a Siamese in particular.

I was actually glad when i found out that the autism pride symbol was a rainbow, because i love rainbows. In junior high i was highly dissapointed to learn that rainbows symbolised gays, and therefore I could not claim the rainbow as my own. Now i can!

Although, I do still think that wonderful things like rainbows should be for everyone and shouldn't symbolise any certain minority of people.

I also thinkthe whole symbol and ribbon thing has gone way too far. Nobody knows more than a few of them. Lets just get back to using our words, shall we?

I do like the lightbulb idea, though! Better than the rainbow circle thing.

I reckon the logo should be similar to an MC Escher drawing (I like his work). It could have a normal set of stairs, with all these other ones coming from the base, so symbolize how different our setup is compared to others. I'll start on the drawing now!

I think it looks a lot like a backwards shin (a Hebrew letter):
