Diagnosis in adults
I'm happy to have been helpful. I don't know how it works in other countries, but I am glad I and to my appointment just for a little more certainty that I could start researching the proper condition. But since my son was already diagnosed and as per her a is most unlikely genetic, it wasn't needed. I'm glad they gave me the option to continue with a full diagnosis or not.
Even without the "official" diagnosis, there are people I am close to that i have told if I think it will help our relationship.
My only concern is if you decide to skip your appointment because of something someone said and then end up doubting if you are researching the right thing. When I started reading these forums I started to doubt because I did not relate to some of the comments, but some I did relate to and we are all different people.
Thanks - I've put the appointment off for a couple of weeks as I have a few things to do tomorrow that the stress of the appointment was putting strain on. I've decided that I'll definitely go or this will eat at me forever.
I'd be happy if they said that I had aspergers but did not want to pursue an official diagnosis just so I knew. This would be ideal.
