Gave me: "Error: "Russian/English" is not a valid language"

That's the stupidest thing I ever heard! I selected Russian to English, so why isn't it valid? Hopeless NT amateurs really need to stop building websites.

Mandatory? I don't think so - advisable perhaps, but those people wouldn't be able to respond properly if they couldn't speak English well anyway.

He needs to go back to his Doc and let him know he's been misdiagnosed. Obvious case of NTism methinks.

funny translator works for me in all 3 browsers...

a)Where an individual resides is his or her own business, even if the individual happened to be an administrator of a message board. What if they liked to travel from country to country? Also what if some of the mods live in USA while others live elsewhere?

b)What if someone wanted to make an all-language message board. Are you saying he would have to make sure to have citizenship in all countries at once?

Yah and it takes years to learn it. I personally was never able to learn english while still living in Russia because the english teachers over there didn't knwo the language themselves. When i came to USA it took for me approximately 3 years to learn it.

Also consider the fact that Americans don't meet others half way either. A typical European would know SEVERAL languages, not jsut English. Why? Because they want to respect the contires that they visit. So that if a Frenchman goes to Germany he can speak to them in their own language instead of Enlish.

Even British do that. Despite their language being universal they learn other languages too. But somehow Americans are exempt from that. Unlike British, the Americans insist that everyone learns THEIR language.



First of all I didn't write this song I cut and pasted it, so I didn't want to translate it and ruin it alone the way.

Secondly, the song is about a certain Russian village Klyntsi being their homeland. So if it were sang in English it would completely ruin a spirit.



Like I said, I editted them to make it into Russian text WITHOUT question marks. But then when mods closed the thread they un-editted it back.



Except that I have just proven them wrong (see above).



What if I want to share the uniqueness of my Russian culture with my American friends?

For me it does, too. But what happends is that if I am using mac then I can WRITE the Russian letters (using translator) but the moment I POST them, they get posted as question marks. So thats why I have to use PC in which case they would be posted the way they are written, as Russian letters.

I have no problem with Swahili either. As an international forum, everyone is allowed to post on their own languages.

You're on private property. The owner of these boards can restrict the language used on his property to anything he likes. If he wanted it to be a Welsh-language only board, that would be his prerogative. You have no rights on private property. Understood?

Really T I know how he feels coming from Russia, Americans normally don't like different, they tell you to get out of the fing face or don't touch me when your trying to great them in your country’s way... Even more so for the other countries, they even phone the police if you don't be with in the normal manner as a guest...

I am not forcing mods to do anything I am just letting them know my opinion about their choices. By the way, if you see a White person not willing to mix with blacks you look down upon them even though it is their privite property too. The melting pot of USA has a lot of double standards.

So what's the answer, that everyone learns every other language? Very impractical as there are hundreds of them.

As you said, it takes a long time to learn a language so people need to be very selective in what they learn. You seem to be making the assumption that everyone here reads Russian.

English, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish are the 3 most commonly spoken languages on this planet and English is pervasive throughout the modern world, whether you like it or not. Russian, French and German are used significantly less, so anyone who learns those languages better have a damn good reason.

How does filling our screens with question marks or Russian characters help anyone? I'm not saying you should have recorded yourself singing in English, merely that it would have been basic courtesy to provide us with somekind of translation alongside or underneath the Russian characters. Look, I just wrote a song in my own language and here are the lyrics:

Where the Hell is your logic?????? You've proven that you can't think properly, nothing else.

How is it related to autism? Should have been in the art section with an English translation included. This thread also should have been in the WP disscussion forum.
