Lawful Neutral

A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. The common phrase for lawful neutral is "true lawful." Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.

No surprise to me. I usually get LG or NG. I've been getting more chaotic lately, more willing to bend the rules if they're hurting somebody, but I still think that rules are useful, and I'd prefer to live in a well-ordered society.

I've played characters of all alignments in role-playing games. The Evil ones are the hardest for me; Chaotics are a bit tricky, but not totally foreign. I enjoy playing Good-aligned characters best. Right now I'm running a Chaotic Good rogue, and I have to keep reminding myself of how impulsive she is compared to me; she doesn't really think ahead that much and makes decisions mostly on gut instinct. She's the kind of person who'll give her lunch to a beggar, while I'm the kind of person who'd organize a food pantry. She also takes a lot more risks than I ever would. She saved the life of a Mafia goon just because she couldn't stand to see him die... it backfired, of course, but she wasn't thinking about that at the time. I like playing her. She's so uncomplicated.

The worst character I've ever played was a NE druid. For her, I just used the rule, "What's the most effective way to do this job?" and did that. Sometimes that meant killing innocents. Sometimes it meant saving somebody's life. On one occasion it meant intimidating somebody by killing his friend in front of him. She didn't really care which way it went, and that amorality made her an Evil character. Creeped me out, honestly. I really prefer playing heroes rather than villains.

Last time I was indignant as well for getting the most boring alignment out there .
Beg to differ; Lawful Good is NOT boring. Lawful Good is badass. It means you have principles you won't compromise for anything, and that you want to change the world so everybody can live peacefully in it. You're not just floating around following your instincts like some Chaotic person; you've got a plan and you think ahead. Lawful Good is powerful because it's not just one person working alone, like some kind of masked vigilante. It's a bunch of people all working together; you mess with one of them, or anyone under their protection, and you've just made yourself an enemy of them all. Alone, you're weak, you mess up, you make mistakes; together, you're strong and you support each other. LG is about community, cooperation, the power of friendship, honor, and kicking bad-guy ass. Occasionally also converting bad guys into good guys, because let's face it, who wouldn't want to be part of a society where everybody's got everybody else's back?

Your Character’s Alignment

Based on your answers to the quiz, your character’s most likely alignment is Chaotic Neutral.

Chaotic Neutral

A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn’t strive to protect others’ freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. The chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). The common phrase for chaotic neutral is "true chaotic." Remember that the chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom both from society’s restrictions and from a do-gooder’s zeal.

And...here's the TV TROPES link (sorry): Neutral Good

Chaotic Good

A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he’s kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit.

I think I am the first one yet, in this thread. It would have been interesting to have the 9 alighments in a poll, just to see how common each one is.
