Who has never played video games?

I remember when it hit bigtime, early 80's. I played Asteroids once & Pac-man once. That was enough for me. I don't play games. In any form.

Video games where a hit and miss for me. Back in the 80s arcade days when Pac-Man was big. I like to hang out at the arcades and try to make friends (never really did make any.). I was not all that good at nor cared really about playing the games. One thing that made me popular at the arcade was a trick with gluing a piece of fishing line to a quarter and using it to max out the credits on the machine for the cost of just one quarter. I quit playing video games for 3 years. Around 1987. I got My first 8-bit NES system and all I play was legend of zelda on it. I quit playing video games for 4 years. By the early 90s when the arcades make a comeback with game like Street Fighter and Mortal Combat. I would go to the arcade and using my quarter trick for more credits. I would practice all the moves by myself so when the high schoolers got out and came to the arcade. I was ready to kick some serious a$$. Around 1994 I quit playing video games for another 7 years. By the year 2000. Video games make a big comeback and really took off for me. This time. It was PC-gaming and LAN parties. Playing games like Quake, Half life, Unreal tournament and Duke Nukem with other at a LAN where awesome. Best 7 years of video gaming I've ever done. Then around 2007 when consoles started taking hold. My interest in video games nose-dived and I haven't play a single video game since.

And then, a thousand-plus years later, Bender uses the same trick.

I have no interest in video games, and to be honest, I'm not even sure what they are really. I had a go at Space Invaders at the amusements when I was young.

I have seen people playing video games, but I'd probably have more fun watching paint dry.

Hmm... this is a good question! And I'm honestly surprised to see I'm not the only one who's not crazy over games! However, yes, I have played a few.

With that said, I have played several games in my life, but most people are shocked to find out that I haven't played that many or the "popular" ones!

Now, the ones I do I play the "simple" games that ship with the OS. Nothing complicated--at all. For example, I love playing Chess on Gnu/Linux, on OS X, and used to on Palm and Symbian, and have played a few games like Helicopter, Brick, robotfindskitten, KNetHack, Lights Out and Robots on Gnome. But even then, I really only play these when everything else is done.

Several years ago, I used to play Patriot Command, Math Munchers and Frog Game on the classic Macs. And that was mostly during my school years to get away from stuff and have fun back then. Back then in the good days, I also sampled a few of the free games that came on my HP, but again, that was then and not that often.

If you do count "real" games outside of the simple ones, I've played SuperTux, PocketCiv, Rise of Nations (an all-time favorite I occasionally play now), and Age of Empires (I and II).

But that's completely the end of my games list. And as you can see, none have been outside a computer, and other than the last four (like Rise of Nations), none have been "popular game titles" everyone plays. I do not care for XBOX, PS1/2/3/4, etc. and have never owned one--ever, and don't plan to. A few people have tried to make me see why I "need" one. But... modern video games are a terrible waste of time, expensive, and no one learns to do anything outside of game on them!

So there's my thoughts... sorry if they were a bit long or off-topic!

Right and it's a shame because playing video games increases spatial awareness and helps develop fine motor skills so it would be really good for us. Too bad people don't generally enjoy things they (*we ) aren't good at.
