When I was at school I never experienced anyone getting picked on due to hair color or freckles (either the pressence of or the lack of). And I have ginger hair. Outside of school no one has ever commented negatively on my hair color either-- I actually have people tell me it is pretty. But if being a redhead were to cause me signifigant distressed or caused me to have problems functioning, then I think it would be apropriate to evaluate it in the context of something like a disease, disorder, or dysfunction.

I know I’m not Bi-Polar

But OCD with Aspergers is the culprit that compounds my odd behaviors. And I know I’m doing it!

But I think I am a disease!

Symptoms: Dysfunctional, Infectious Personality, I start to Yawn and it spreads to others looking on, I check to see if the doors are locked more than once, Double Check, Triple Check, and when I go to bed, I lay there and worry if I checked the doors at all, knowing very well without a doubt I had done so. But can’t sleep!
So I give in, get up and check them a forth time. My routines DRIVE ME ABSOLUTELY BONKERS! Meanwhile my family are member giggling yelling my name GOTO BED! They know its me.

How many of you relate???

Disease everyone is, as your classing it as everyday use its the medical term for disease as that is what it is classed as, any other meaning to it is when they will use the syndrome part to tell it across...

Disease:- An impairment of health or a condition of abnormal functioning.
A term of health status; when something is wrong with a bodily function.

Disease:
Disease can be defined in three ways:

1. An interruption, cessation, or disorder of body functions, systems, or organs.
Synonym: illness, morbus, sickness.
2. A morbid entity characterized usually by at least two of these criteria: recognized etiologic agent(s), identifiable group of signs and symptoms, or consistent anatomical alterations.
See also: syndrome.
3. Literally, dis-ease, the opposite of ease, when something is wrong with a bodily function

Think smart with words needs to be thrown out the window ;), Tesla yours is good but its for all terms of the word than the human one...

I always thought of disease vs. disorder as body versus mind. Perhaps it may be more prudent to attempt to alter the original "disease" definition in Wiki via cites, and THEN try to remove AS from Diseases accordingly.

However, even then, it'd likely shift over to "Disorder". Perhaps the lesser of two evils though.
