Toe walking- do we have to?

I have never toe walked but I know a lot of people on all ends of the spectrum who do.

My four year old toe walks occasionally when bare foot. It's very graceful and looks like ballet. He can even run on his toes. I go up stairs on my toes as a leverage (pushing off) thing, but don't think that is unusual

I had no idea all these responses were here. I stopped receiving notifications. But thanks for all your replies. Yes, I meant walking tip-toed, sorry for the confusion. I am reminded of a little girl in my neighborhood when I was a kid and she did walk on her toes as well as had "learning disabilities," as they called it in the 1960's. In retrospect, I think she had some form of autism. I also have a cousin in his 30s who my family always said "has problems." His 2 children share all of his traits and I think they all have Asperger's. They, as well as the grandfather, are all very bright but have social and communication difficulties. I think I'm going off on an off-topic tangent now.

I used to toe walk for a few years. But it was so different and obvious that I mostly trained myself out of it, but I still have a very distinct gait. But some people have still noticed and commented on my toe walking. My brother did what I called a toe strut. That was a sign of impending aggression toward me.
